NAZA GPS mount & Assistant Software input question.

Wouldn't the z axis measurement be closer to 10 cm? I have a 550 but using the rod supplied with the GPS unit, with the base mounted in the same plane as the top plate and the FC mounted on the bottom plate, the height of the center of the GPS to the center of the FC is just about 10 cm. The...

Gains, how high is too high?

I should have indicated this was basic gains. Running latest firmware. It just seems high but whatever works I guess.

Gains, how high is too high?

I went out this evening and tried to work on gains. Moderate gusty winds, not too bad for West Texas. Stock F550. Two Hyperion 3s mounted on top plate. GoPro near front on bottom plate. COG including is surprisingly close to middle of Naza including z - axis. Balanced DJI 10" props...

    In defense of DJI props

I know everybody hates DJI props but I've got to say, I've had pretty good luck with them. I've got a set of Graupner 10 in. and I'm sure I'll use them when I graduate to more serious AP work but dang, you land a little bit crooked and you'll break one But I've used a bunch of DJI 10 inch...

    Naza GPS yaw issue

Went out early this am in perfectly calm wind to test my GPS. Calm air is rare around here. GPS held a hover rock steady. Held position on climb and descent. Flew straight and then held on fore and aft flight and side to side. But (ain't there always a but), on even a small gentle yaw...

Neighbors think I've finally lost my mind

My neighbors have grown used to my front yard test flights but I'm pretty sure they think I've finally gone completely round the bend. Got my GPS for Naza installed and went out earlier to calibrate and a quick test even though very windy As I calibrating the compass I look over to see my...

Post Production Softare? What do you use?

If you're gonna bite the bullet and go with a full blown editor like Final Cut Pro X, I highly recommend the training videos by Izzy Video.

DJI prepares for WKM II with Naza GPS upgrade.

    Naza is a brick

I was kind of leery of the battery after the crash. It was kind of skinned but not puffed. I monitored it closely when I put it in the charger and Im pretty sure it wasn't into a low voltage state when I started charging it. That is a good point though. My flights have tended to be short...

    Naza is a brick

It wasn't that bad of a crash. Checked battery and connections and voltages good. Checked continuity at power distribution points and all good, no shorts. Checked + and - on plug from BEC that plugs into Naza and it's providing 5v so I can't think of anything else. Just in case, I've got...

    Naza is a brick

Recovered from a moderate crash. Main damage was destroyed the VU/BEC again. Got a new one, hooked everything back up and I've got a total brick. The ESC's beep continually, which I believe means they are getting no signal from the FC. The LEDs on the BEC show nothing, no lights at all. Hook...

    Nothing but beeping

Landed hard on some gravel and bashed the BEC pretty good. Took it home and tried to power everything up, nothing happening no response except all ESCs continually beeping. There is some power coming thru the BEC and receiver because orange indicator light in the telemetry unit lights. However...

    Vibrations

Installed an app called Vibrations on my iPhone and strapped the phone onto my 550. Ran the first with unbalanced 10" stock props and second with new props I balanced. Below are screen snaps. This is about the first 30 seconds of each flight. Frankly I can't tell that much difference but I...

    DJI Replacement Screws?

The screws and the low voltage wires that hook up the Naza and receiver and some of those little e clips and tiny washer things that go under the e clips on the DJI motors and throw in a prop nut or two. Somebody make up a care package of all the little bitty parts on a F450/550 ad I'd buy it.

    Put Lights On It

I used these: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/blue_led_lights_1036688_prd1.htm They are very easy to install. You can cut them to length and there are solder points where you cut them. I used some 22 gauge wire I salvaged off a BEC I trashed by landing in a gutter and just wired them to the...

    Put Lights On It

I've been flying for almost a month now and feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. Just put lights on a couple of days ago, red on two front arms and blue on two back. And all I can say is Wow. If I could go back and give myself one piece of advice before my first flight, it would...

    Gain? What gain?

Okay, I've got a question. I am in atti mode and in hoover so all thrust is directed down to counteract gravity. I apply elevator to transition to forward flight. Now, overall vector aerodynamics says that because I have vectored part of the thrust used to maintain hoover into thrust to...

Couple of Newbie Naza F450 Kit questions

Are you saying that the leads for the lights might introduce some interference or false signal to the ESC? I haven't seen it but I'll sure take the word of more experienced hands if you think it's a possibility.

Couple of Newbie Naza F450 Kit questions

I have F550 and just soldered short lead wires from the + and - at the base of each arm where you take power off for each ESC. Seems to work fine and makes for a clean installation. I will admit I went light crazy. When I mount my NEX 5N and start trying to do some serious AP, I may have to...
