    quad wants to flip

Mine kept flipping. I would have sworn on a stack of Bibles that I had everything plugged in correctly and double and triple checked. Finally I pulled the top plate off and went thru the wiring again step by sep and guess what. I had M5 and M6 reversed. Fixed that it flew like a charm

Newbie with f550 and WKM , I ´m very lost!!

Unfortunately, when you get your RTF kit, you're still little ways from being ready to fly. There's all kinds of little things you need. As far as your batteries, they come with different kinds of connectors and you need to decide what one kind you want for your system. Then you're probably...

    Best camera mount-F550

I just assembled the AeroXcraft landing gear and GoPro gimbal this weekend. Hope to have the wiring harness tomorrow so I haven't flown it yet but I have to say the "fit and finish" was very impressive. The parts fit together very precisely and the instruction manual was helpful. For a...

    DJI Wookong-M Voltage Setup

If you have the Spektrum telemetry module it came with a two wire lead that you just solder to either the main battery pads (+ / - ) or any of the power take off pads. Some have advised not to attach leads other than the ESCs to those takeoff pads but I use them for very low draw things like...

    DJI Wookong-M Voltage Setup

The loss value is supposed to be the difference between the voltage under load and unloaded (no or little power being drawn from the battery) and .1 v per cell is the accepted value for fairly fresh batteries. I checked that with the telemetry module that came with my Dx8. Sure enough, the...

    Wobbly descent

Isn't that problem on descent pretty characteristic of multirotors in general and just a result of turbulence caused by descending into the aircraft's own prop wash?

    Finding offset angle for GPS

I look forward to meeting him. I just recently got into rc and multirotors for the AP aspect and don't really know many in the local rc community yet. I wonder if he might be the guy flying a LED lit airplane near my neighborhood. I live near the outskirts of town and somebody was flying at...

    Finding offset angle for GPS

I'm afraid I don't know Anson. Is he from West Texas?

    Finding offset angle for GPS

Yes, I think after any change to your GPS, you need to recalibrate your compass.

    Finding offset angle for GPS

I didn't notice a deviation in straight flight either but on thinking about it I don't think you would with just a basic Naza/GPS setup without waypoints It probably wouldn't show up in straight flight until you were letting the GPS autopilot fly to a waypoint, which is really what RTH is. I...

    Finding offset angle for GPS

That's the way I moved mine and it worked. That's also the direction the diagram in the Naza manual shows to move the GPS. Another way I think of it is that if you had your aircraft facing true north, you'd turn your GPS to point at magnetic north.

    Finding offset angle for GPS

I knew I was supposed to offset the angle of the GPS by the amount of magnetic declination, I just hadn't done it before this test. I just like it when field results so closely relate to expectations.

    Finding offset angle for GPS

Playing around with my Naza GPS trying out RTH failsafe. Flew it out estimated 100 yards and turned off TX. It flew to altitude, flew back to a point about 30 feet to my right, then directly overhead and then landed Hmmm. My GPS was aligned as closely as possible to centerline of copter...

A word of thanks to vendors

Since I started this madness, one of the things I have been most pleasantly surprised about is the quality of service from many of the vendors I have dealt with. I am repeatedly gratified by those vendors who not only offer prompt and efficient service but are willing to take the time to...

Gains, how high is too high?

No, when I first started trying to setup my Naza, that was what I thought too Simply put, basic gains set how quickly and strongly the copter reacts to inputs from the flight controller. Attitude gains govern how the copter reacts to inputs from the sticks. Think of it this way. Let's say...

    Lipo for F550

I had a couple of Turnigy 3S 5000 but I just got a couple of Hyperion G3 3S 4000maH from Quantum Hobby and I sure do like them. Don't have exact weights but they weigh a lot less. I had to put two of them in parallel to balance my hexa where I had 1 of the Turnigys

    Any updates on Naza GPS????

I also noticed when I did a failsafe RTH, once it was over the home point, it was extremely slow to descend. When you program the failsafe on a Naza without GPS, the position of the throttle when you rebind determines the rate of descent. I wonder if this also determines the rate of descent on...

    Naza GPS yaw issue

What's odd is that it doesn't want to wander off until the yaw is completed. After the stick is moved to stop the yaw, it almost seems to hesitate for a moment, then wander off in pretty much a straight line. Then it slows and stops and heads back to where it belongs. I thought at first it...

NAZA GPS mount & Assistant Software input question.

Suddeninline, it was the hardest thing in the world to shut the transmitter off and trust to the multirotor gods but I finally worked up the courage just today. It sure was sweet to to see the bird climb to altitude, head back to me from 150 yards out, descend and land almost at my feet...

    Naza GPS yaw issue

Just wondering if there was any follow up. I went out today in a rare calm to very light wind day and flew some tests. In atti and GPS, hexa flew like it was on rails. Maybe a hint of the classic naza drift to the right but almost perfect atti hover. Perfectly steady on ascent to altitude in...
