    My quad its crazy

Your configs are still not right. The FC is seeing a high value for the ESC's at center stick. Typical mS count for an ESC has 1000 as the low point and 2000 as the high point. If you have the value at mid stick set near 1500 the FC would think half throttle. Use bottom throttle stick...

Castle MR ESC Active Braking Firmware Update

Not bad. Castle makes fine stuff. I'd been wondering when they would apply a bit more focus to MR equipment.

Advices about the drone to buy

Almost sounds like a custom build using an Arduino based flight control system. Perhaps a little over the top would be a Pixhawk, or a bit simpler with a PixRacer. Obtain a frame about the size of a DJI 550.

Took apart my ebay steal the tarot T810. Check out the pics.

A very, very small amount of Loctite 243 on about 1/8" of the screw threads will fix loose screw problems and not be hard to remove them later. Good job!

Problem/Doubt with my custom first quadcopter

Check the calibrations for all the ESC's again. It sounds like they are not operating together, as if some are calibrated differently.

DJI is showing where the drone business is heading

I think DJI is telling everyone where they want the market to go.

    Filming a presentation

Never, ever put 100% trust in a Wookong GPS unit. Those that have had the best success with them fly in Atti mode where GPS is not used. If flying a LOS operation GPS is not needed and the Wookong is very stable in Atti.

Hopefully some eyesight too and will not see the deduction in the checkbook.

    Battery Charger

I use a Hitec X2 but they've moved on to the X4 now. I found the small $40.00 programmable chargers would burn themselves up charging large 6s batteries. Ended up cheaper to buy a good charger once instead of cheap chargers over and over. The fire risk dropped to almost zero in the process...

Local Motors and Airbus Group announced the winners of the Airbus Cargo Drone Challenge

Was wondering who ended up owning the rights to the creations myself. If Airbus and Local Motors, it reinforces my belief that a lot of engineers are naive, or a little central in their thinking.

    Topographic mapping HELP PLEASE

I don't want to come off cruel or heartless, but two things assure your failure with the current endeavor. One is lack of product and system knowledge. The other is accepting a project with a rapidly approaching deadline without comprehension of the activity. My best advice is to turn down...

    Filming a presentation

If you can test frequency compatibility on land with the equipment first you have a much greater chance of success. Check with the company and try to arrange a time and place for a test run, feet dry.

Chroma Propeller Ejection Issue - Horizon Denial

I like to teach. Lecturing sucks but teaching is fun. Others taught me and in the process enabled me to branch out and learn more. No reason others need to repeat the same mistakes.

Pixhawk px4 vs Dji Wookong for Aerial photography

There is yet to be a DJI match for the Pixhawk. APM had unlimited waypoints before DJI had more than a hand full. You can program a Pixhawk to do darn near anything. If you can dream up the code for something new you can integrate it. With DJI and most others you have what they want you to...

Master video file storage best practices

After every shoot I transfer the files to a multi terabyte external hard drive. They get moved from there to other points as post work takes place. I've tanked a couple computers over the last couple years and won't store the only copy of anything on one anymore. I just don't trust the cloud...

    Good anti-vibration camera mount

Same way computer racks are mounted in war ships.

    Next generation flightcontroller?

Next generation stuff will be seen is upcoming products like the X2, which uses much of the open source developments that generated Pixhawk.

Poll: Are you a commercial/professional, prosumer or consumer level user of Drones/UAV's?

Sleepy, you can't fix or engineer out stupid. Darwin eventually takes care of them in one way or another. The difficult part is watching the harm they can bring to others before that happens.

Poll: Are you a commercial/professional, prosumer or consumer level user of Drones/UAV's?

Nice to see you here Alex. For those that don't know, Vulcan designs and makes some very durable and quite functional frames.
