    What defines commercial?

I don't believe they have any desire to interfere at that level. Although the regulation requirements seem over the top there's just no way to assure everyone is playing by the rules, and there needs to be a way to work the system back to those that don't.

Where'd all the regulars go? Old Man?

I'm still here. I quashed the idea of a review after everybody and their Mother did H reviews, and anti H reviews on YouTube. I've been a little busy of late, work and flying season stuff. 107 is finally becoming reality and sites not over run with manufacturer shills are needed for people to...

Longest Range, Longest Flight Life, Highest Def

VulcanUAV builds carefully thought out, well designed, professional aerial systems. They are not cheap but good tools generally come at a higher price. They are not toys that quickly break down or fail in functionality. They last a very long time with reasonable attention to maintenance. The...

How drones can help after a disaster

In the U.S. there's often an emergency TFR over a disaster zone. Australia has CASA that oversees a similar regulatory function. Many areas in AU, and some parts of Europe, are already using long duration, BLOS sUAS for commercial applications in civilian airspace and they do get re-deployed...

Voluntary Best Practices for UAS Privacy, Transparency, and Accountability

This is something people will need to become familiar with. It doesn't take very long for "advisories" to become laws.

    FAA and AMA

A showdown is very likely. Considering the AMA management draws paychecks from the operation of model aircraft I can't for the life of me figure why they think they are not a commercial operation. Toss in AMA advertisers using sponsored flyers to promote product lines and the conflict expands...

    What defines commercial?

I understand how you feel, recognizing that for someone that doesn't actively seek/promote professional work but posts videos online without intent to generate revenue a commercial status is a bit over the top. As long as the hobby is pursued and not a job there should be little FAA...

How are you doing commercial work without a pilot license?

If you have the 333 you can hire a pilot to fly for you.

How are you doing commercial work without a pilot license?

Once one understands the job that needs to be done, selecting the tools for that job gets pretty easy. Learning how to effectively use the tool can be much more difficult than selecting it, but someone that understands their tools becomes a craftsman. Anyone can cut with a saw but in...

    What defines commercial?

I can't say much regarding regs for France, England, Australia, or Canada, but our FAA has been pretty darn sticky on compensation/consideration around non commercial pilots for a loooong time. It's almost impossible to even split the cost of a flight between a private pilot and a passenger...

    Multirotorforums.com gone?

Folks, I'm gonna do another long winded post but I feel it's appropriate. First a couple of things. Bart and I had side conversations from time to time about various things and some plank RC stuff. Although Bart always tried to stay chipper I could tell he was getting pretty stressed. One...

    I have 2 FC's whch would you suggest ?

The WookongM is a good controller and easy to use. Stay out of GPS guided modes though. The Pixhawk is a great controller and difficult for the less experienced to set up.

    Multirotorforums.com gone?

Thanks Nathan and Marc. I was wondering if the Nathan I saw on the list of Admins was the same from days of yore. I suspected it was. Good to hear from both of you again. Ya'll ok with me doing a personal review of the "H" here? You know me, I tell it like it is. I don't receive...

    Multirotorforums.com gone?

Well this is interesting. Bart gave me a call earlier this evening to touch bases and to remind me of the Multirotor Forum transition. In a way this will be sort of like a high school reunion for me. One of this sites owners is a gentleman named Marc Vigod, the originator of RC Universe. He...

DJI files patent suit against Yuneec

That's why I prefer to post files direct from the card to sharing service when doing a review. The only additional compression comes from the upload and there's no "cheating" with edits.

From YuneecUK. There were 85 views when I saw it last night. I plan on doing a review after mine arrives.
