How is your cutoff set? IMM or intelligent? In intelligent it takes 3seconds to stop. IMM should be immediately. It's odd that only 3 keep spinning.

You'll be fine. You already identified your problem. Not calibrating your transmitter first was a serious mistake. Especially not calibrating your throttle. 2.4GHz is pretty robust and your only on each channel for a millisecond as it hops around. Have fun!

I think 3 seconds to activation. I've only had failsafe activate once when I flew 2.2km on my 2.4GHz spektrum tx and it took 3seconds from loss of signal to failsafe activation. Will post the video when I'm allowed as it was during a shoot that's not complete yet.

Yep, that's how I did it too. Although to test it in the field use a switch, not turning off your controller. Too risky. I think the dual input on the U channel won't work because one signal is possibly overriding the other? Don't quote me on that though.
