    bump, bump, bumpin along

In that case, vibration and balance are key. I've seen guys flying broomsticks with motors on perfectly because they balanced everything just right. I use DJI stuff so can't really take the high horse on quality (although I've found the quality great, others haven't).

How important is it for your craft to not fall out of the sky? I believe quality parts are worth it.

Thank you! Airworthiness was my fear. Just another thing to pay for. Cheers mate!

S800 Noob with EMBARASSING Flight times WTF!

Ah, as these were your lipos first flights then expect half the time. They need a gentle flight at least the first couple if times. I use 2xGensAce 5000mah and get a comfortable 10mins. I think this is just a teething problem and it'll all settle down after you've cycled the lipos a few times...

    Pre Flight Checks

The checklist Dave has posted is an example of a UK approved one. Mine look very similar but with check boxes next to them. The CAA have example ones for the UK on their website.

    Pre Flight Checks

Ah, good. Does that include actually getting your BNUC-S or just permission for certain jobs (thinking Xfactor kerfuffle here). Should I rush through the flight test before the change? So sorry to hijack your thread! Your checklist set me off as I've just put together a bunch of them myself...

S800 Noob with EMBARASSING Flight times WTF!

I just think its your voltage protection kicking in too early. Lower it as 22.2v seems a little high to me (under load). I have mine at 21V. Remember, the voltage protection is for emergencies only. Use a timer and a good charger to measure your lipos. If you have a current sensor on your OSD...

Intelligent Mode or Immediately Mode for motors????

I also use immediate. I land in my hand so want those motors stopped straight away. I also think if your craft loses control I want to stop the props as soon as possible. Coming from helis I'm just used to throttle hold I think.

    Pre Flight Checks

Thank you Dave. Great topic (although it is called pre FIGHT checks!). Any idea what the likely changes in the law this August are going to be? I've almost put together an operations manual and hoped the law wouldn't change too much as regards to airworthiness (I'm under 7kg) or such. Cheers...

    guesses on the new S800?

It's the EVO and costs more (plus some other stuff). I love my S800 personally.

Z15 Nex5r Shutter & Rec Stop Start Problem

Hmmm. Check the manual for correct Nex settings. You'll get there!

Z15 Nex5r Shutter & Rec Stop Start Problem

Do the controls work on the assistant? Have they worked before?

    Covering Pressure Hole?

I've covered mine with some porous foam and mounted on the anti-vibe plate. No white flashes and perfect altitude. That was with no wind. I wonder if we could drill another small hole to relieve static pressure build up like they have on V2?

    WKM S800 Mounting X-Y-Z

Damn it! Chris98, are you just trying to get your post count up or something? :)

    WKM S800 Mounting X-Y-Z

I'm not sure what you mean by CG being on the zen. CG should be the very centre of the S800 when balanced. The Zen is just a payload.

Zenmuse Z15 GH3 pan, tilt and roll not working

Sounds like your mode signal is not getting through. Default mode seems to be operating. A bit of drift on the ground happens sometimes. Recheck your connections. Do the controls work in the Zenmuse assistant as well as the WKM assistant?

+1. The monitor is the only way.

    Gesture based RC control

A similar system was demonstrated on TED talk recently. Uses a wand and cameras. Shame we still have to use GPS as a camera type system would be super accurate.

    GPS tracking

I think there's various devices out there. Common ones use the Mobile Cellular network. But yes, you would need to velcro something else to your bird. I've seen this topic a few times, Amazon and Ebay often have such devices cheap, at least I think that is what the topics concluded.

    quick power question

And just incase, here's the pics: I used this lead for setup purposes and it worked fine. I don't like leads hanging all over the place so I also wired all my power leads straight to the frame for aesthetics. PS - Your ImmersionRC VTx should take upto 4S (16V) at least. Mine does I'm sure...
