motors won't start

Hi all

I'm completely new to this sort of thing so please be gentle with me.

I'm trying to help a mate get his DJI F550 up and running. We're currently in Iraq so don't have any local support.
He bought the machine from buzzflyer in UK ready assembled and was told it was ready to fly......it appears not to be so.

I downloaded the Naza software and driver and got the machine/radio talking to my laptop - all settings seem to OK (per the manuals I've managed to download) but when the heli is unplugged from the laptop it doesn't respond in any way to the radio. The CSC process has no effect and none of the motors will start.

I have little bit of experience with conventional RC helis but the GPS and autopilot technology is new to me. I've downloaded and read just about everything on the net but can't an answer to this problem.

Transporting the heli back to the UK is a pain in the a$$ so any help or advice to get this thing up and running would be greatly appreciated.

Please help

Easy? You call that easy?
Have you bound the transmitter to the receiver? Look online for binding procedure for your transmitter. On the laptop in Naza assistant does the transmitter work? The green sliders should move in the correct directions. Ready to fly still means you have to learn the setup. If you work through the various online manuals you'll sort it out.

Good luck!

Radio is bound to receiver - I can see the sliders moving on the laptop screen. Would the fail safe settings have an effect? I'm pretty sure they are not correct.

Mr take no prisoners!
Yes the failsafe settings have a big effect, you also must arm the machine before the motors will start.

The manual and Assistant Software explains it all in detail.

Try left stick down and left and at the same time right stick down and right. If that don't work, try left down and right, and right stick down and left.
