    Gimba pitch jitter problems...

Sounds like it could be a wind pressure/balance problem. How well balanced do you have the camera? If the balance is even slightly off and you add wind pressure and the motor is only just strong enough to hold the camera still in a no-wind situation then... see what I mean? Can you "excite" the...

Want to use xt60s on a 8awg wire but the wire is too big

:upset: Image #2 - is that the battery leads you're holding there? That's a nasty accident waiting to happen - the positive and negative can short to each other and you have no obvious way of preventing it during storage and transportation. Please don't cut down the 8AWG so it "fits" an XT60 -...

FPV blackout period after shooting a picture

Ok - so you're not going to actually fly the aircraft using the image from a gimbal-mounted camera - good, 'cos that would end in tears ;) - so you're going to fly with visual line of sight. Therefore you only need one camera feed. Like I said above, the ideal for you would be to bring the...

FPV blackout period after shooting a picture

Maybe :) - but TimJustinDodd used the words "Thereby basically rendering FPV useless!!!" - implying the delay inhibited his ability to fly the aircraft via that feed. So I guess I was just checking that he wasn't intending to try that :upset: By the sounds of it, a better route for that...

FPV blackout period after shooting a picture

I'd have to say you're trying to do the wrong thing here. Assuming your next step is to mount the EOS M on a gimbal (otherwise, what's the point?) then you really can't be taking an FPV feed from that camera. Dangerous :)

    Relative Shipping Costs

Subsidy is more likely. From my experience with my own store (selling worldwide from UK) US-residents seem particularly sensitive to shipping costs from "overseas". Looks like RCTimer is building the majority of the shipping cost into the product price and showing a nominal $2 - psychologically...

    ESC life time

I would check the capacitors on your ESCs - if there is ANY sign of bulging on the top (where there is a "cross" cut into the metal) then they should be replaced. If you suspect the ESCs anyway, then the first thing to do would be to replace the capacitors on all of them. It's easy to think of...

    Relative Shipping Costs

The shipping cost is subsidised, for sure. Or it's a mistake (in your favour).

Very light jitter effect on Gopro Gimbal/Martinez

Have you tried flying with the gimbal switched off but locked into position (maybe tape, zip ties, whatever)? This might show whether the jitter is coming from the controller/motors or is a physical issue of vibration passing through or resonance in the mechanism.

Very light jitter effect on Gopro Gimbal/Martinez

I don't think there's any established standard for those little dampers (or science, for that matter!) - you could increase their stiffness by squirting some silicone (bathroom sealant) inside them - but that would be irreversible if it didn't work. Maybe some other people here have experience...

Very light jitter effect on Gopro Gimbal/Martinez

What isolation do you have between the fuselage and the gimbal? It sounds to me like you have a resonance issue - try making the isolation either stiffer (add isolators) or less stiff (remove isolators) and see if the jitter changes.

Running brushless motor without the circlip

What is the diameter of the shaft? E-clips can be okay - especially if you don't have circlip pliers - but they are usually thicker than circlips (C-clips). Measure the thickness of the shims fitted to your motors - they are usually 0.5mm IME - the total thickness of the new shim and clip should...

Running brushless motor without the circlip

You DEFINITELY need the circlip AND the shim washer in there - they effectively provide basic (crude) preload to the bearings. The circlips and shims on the cheaper chinese motors are made of cream cheese, so it's worth replacing all of them when you receive new motors. Circlips and shims...

Is it me, or does permatex not work at all.

If your screws/nuts are stainless steel or anodized aluminium then you'll need to use their Surface Prep spray on them first - see the TDS here

Electrical Mystery - some guidance needed for troubleshooting

Most multimeters will top out at 10 amps - they usually have an internal fuse to protect them from going past that. So I wouldn't try measuring the pull - if it was enough to kill your battery, it will just pop the fuse. I think you have to tackle this the hard way - pull the whole thing apart...

First UK conviction for illegal use of an unmanned aircraft by the CAA.

Good to see the CAA did a swift, clean job - unlike the Pirker case in the US :) Because, according to the FAA, US Airspace is "uniquely complex" ;)

SunnySky Series 40 Brushless Motor Bearings

I wouldn't buy from eBay or direct from China - or from a local hobby shop, for that matter - you just don't know what you're getting. Bearing manufacturing works like wine making - if it turns out good, stick your brand label on it and charge full price; if it's not so good, sell 'em out of the...
