The first A2 that I received would not allow me to calibrate the compass. I got it replaced and the new one works great. I could contact your dealer and ask for a replacement.

The A2 is very sensitive to the can bus connections. Follow the manual exactly. If not it will not perform. Can 1 and Can 2 are different and at different speeds. When they say connect this way they are not kidding. Do it or fail.

Just an FYI, how much would it cost you if you lost your quad? Compare that to the cost of a Rx that supports preset failsafe. Your choice.

Compare the number of users of APM vs the number of DJI users. Yes the fails will be greater, but as a percentage, I don't think so.

Your Rx does not support preset failsafe. You need to upgrade to one that does. That way if you loose Tx signal it will come back to you rather than flying away or just hovering until it lands.

The motors look the same as the standard issue Phantom. The props are definitely different. That leaves the battery.

All I can say that it works. You can speculate about future uses, but now as configured no worries. I don't fly mine behind trees and other stuff. If guys do, then it is their craft not mine. I cannot make excuses for those that do not read the manual. Not my problem.
