    Graupner Radios Range Problems

Maybe you can post a photo of your rig? And there's a way to enable recording data logs on the mx20 radio, so I assume you can do that on the newer radio, too. If you can figure out how to do that, it'd probably be very useful.

Question About Installing 12V LED Strips to 6S Battery on DJI F450

What Pete said. I used one of these. Worked great. http://amzn.to/1mkO3AO

Mikrokopter My Hexa XL Slowly Climbs at Mid Stick

Two things: remove the throttle centering spring (they're more trouble than they're worth) and set the AH "Stick neutral point" in MK Tools to '0', which is automatic. That's what I've always done, and it works much better. That way, with the spring removed, when you engage Altitude Hold, you...

    Lumix GH4

I have one of these that I ripped open and converted to use on the copter. When in 4K it gets a little wonky, but it still works. And it works great otherwise.

    Lumix GH4

With all due respect, I get output at 24hz with 4K using an HDMI cable when the output is set to 1080P. See here:

    Lumix GH4

Yes, most definitely, however, there's a major issue with taking stills whilst using the video out: you can only shoot in 16:9 mode. Normally stills gives you the option of 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9. Of the three, the 4:3 mode gives you the best resolution. 16:9 is cropped at the top and bottom of the...

Has anyone tried this lens with their GH3 or 4?

There are a number of folks (me included) who have come to the conclusion that image stabilization on copters with good brushless gimbals (I use a MōVI M5) is not a good idea. I've flown my Panny 12-35 with and without OIS on, and it's hard to tell in most situations, but there are a few cases...

How do you measure the temperatures and what piece of equipment do you use?

That's what I use, too, although my ESCs (Mikrokopter) have temperature logging that's way more accurate. By the time you're on the ground, it's often too late to capture anything meaningful. I will sometimes bust out the thermometer if one of my motors feels really hot (in practice they're...

    s1200?

Looks awesome. An $800 knock-off of a non-existent DJI heavy lifter from a no name hobby shop in China. I'm sure there's no risk in hanging your (non-existent) Ronin off of this thing and flying your RED Epic on it. Can't wait to see the video of the maiden (and final) flight of that one...

Just use the intervalometer that's built in. Take a picture every x seconds (your pick). Easy.

any suggestion for a coaxial X8 configuration?

The Freefly forum has several build threads for this kind of copter, including mine. I would suggest you look at a different motor, as the U7 is getting some really bad reviews. There are problems with it and I know of several folks who have had crashes and other problems as a result of trying...

LiPo Batteries... Does It Make A Difference Where And What Brand You Buy?

Lithium Polymer batteries can be very dangerous. Assuming these make it from china hobby line to South Carolina in one piece, who’s to say if they’ll even work? They’re arguably the most important part of any aircraft, and I don’t know why you’d want to risk that on a no-name brand to save about...

Any problems with the vTx antenna interfering with the GPS

I don’t think GPS is going to be your problem. More likely you’ll have harmonics interfering with the 2.4 signal to your receiver for control of your copter (unless you’re using UHF). You should use a notch filter for your video TX to help prevent that.

New member and crashed right off the bat

So sorry, man. What a bummer. If you put the memory card back in the GoPro and power it up, sometimes the GoPro itself will repair the file. I have had that happen a few times. If you watch the screen when you power up the GoPro, it might momentarily show some kind of “first aid” thing, then the...
