an unusual configuration for an X8

The motor table is based on 6S batteries. So unless you’re planning to run two 3S batteries in series, there’s no way a 3S LiPo will spin a 16” prop. At least not in any of the physics models I understand.

    Walkera QRX350 Pro FPV2 version?

I just saw that Hobby King are stocking a new model of the Walkera QRX350 called the “Pro”. It’s notable for some interesting capabilities. High capacity 3S 5200mAh battery provides 25 minute flight times G-2D brushless camera gimbal (compatible with iLook and GoPro Hero 3) Devention DEVO 10...

Led lights with a 4s battery

I use one of these. Weighs basically nothing, and it provides a steady 12.0V from 4S-6S batteries. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GLM0KCE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Cinestar 8 For Sale

I’ve built up a heavy lifter, and I’m ready to part with my old reliable Cinestar 8. It is a sturdy, smooth and super reliable flier. I have logged hundreds of hours with it, and it will undoubtedly do the same for you. I have many spare parts (such as a motor, bearings, BL 2.0, extra power...

I have a cheap Acer netbook (not a laptop, but a netbook) that I bought from a friend for $100. Runs WinXP and works great.

    Wanted Wanted: Graupner GR12/GR16

Anybody have a Graupner GR12 that they’re not using (in the USA, please)? A GR16 would be fine, too. I’d like to buy one. Thanks!

    RC control of GH4

The GH3 has a built-in intervalometer. You can set it to fire off a still photo every 1-60 seconds (at least). Why would you bother directly triggering the shutter? Just throw away the ones you don’t want. You also avoid the weird behavior of having stills stuck in 16:9 mode when using the HDMI...

    Estes Proto X

I like mine even more now that I'm using the TX from my little Hubsan X4. It pairs perfectly and automatically, and it dramatically improves the range compared to that awful little tx that comes with it. It's an amazing little thing!!

Why do you use the Herkules?

There are a large number of MK users on the Freefly forum and on the Mikrokopter forum, too. The MK forum is mostly in German, but one board is primarily English, and Google Chrome does a passable job translating the others, for the most part. Most folks will answer English questions in English...

Why do you use the Herkules?

Heavy-lift copters are becoming more commonplace now. Being able to fly with a large camera such as big DSLRs and REDs is possible due to the availability of 6S power systems. But not everybody wants to implement their own power distro systems. Herkules is one option. Mikrokopter recently...

    Remote zoom compact camera

LANC is the name of the protocol that some cameras use for remote operation, including zooming. Mikrokopter makes a LANC interface that works with the Sony camcorders, but AFAIK, there aren’t any of the truly pocketable cameras that have a LANC interface. You could probably McGyver something...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Bart, this is a great resource. One of the first places I send aspiring noobs. If they can make it through page 1 of this thread and answer a few simple questions, they’re well on their way. LiPo batteries can be perplexing and dangerous, but they’re the best of what we have right now. Following...

Tarot 2-axis brushless gimbal for gopro

LiPo batteries want to be charged at 4.2V per cell. If your cells fall below 3.3V or so, the battery could be damaged. Sounds like that battery is no good. And it’s a 2S battery, which is not ideal. I’d get a 3S battery, as well as a good balancing charger. The Phantom battery could be used, but...
