    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

Make my own. Not tough. Aluminum angle bar with holes drilled and add rubber grommets to the holes. Bolt it to the bottom plate and put some CF tubes in there. The QR mechanisms can be pricey. I got 4 from China for about $60 shipped for a project.

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

I think I'll be adding a rail system to the Quadframe quad I have to accept a quick release plate. Adds some clearance needed - but well worth being able to take off the gimbal.

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

That may be normal. Not sure. Stick cal last window of the main radio functions (not model function windows). Long press of menu button (upper left). Scroll through pages. It prompts you through stick cal.

Mac is right. As long as you do measurements - all 4 holes should effect the CoG equally. It really should not make a difference anyway. You're drilling 3mm holes :). Definitely do it first. Taking it apart is a pain (any frame really).

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

The only thing I can think of is the stick trims. Make sure they're zero'd. Maybe do a full calibration of the sticks in Taranis just to be safe.

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

There is no way to mark a thread solved. But people might find some help if they stumble on your questions. Did you do the Naza dance before flying? Also, you need to wait for a full series of LED lights to flash to make sure you have full GPS lock. There is a list of what they all mean in...

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

Good luck! I think you may also be able to copy the whole model and mess with it from there - just in case trial and error doesn't go your way :)

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

I did. I believe if you go to the mixer window in Taranis - you can scroll to the channel that currently has your flight modes and long press the enter button. That should pull up a window that allows you to copy it. Then you can scroll to channel 7 - same thing, and choose paste? I'm not on...

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

In the Taranis computer program you can just drag your flight mode setup to the proper output channel. Make sure to delete where it originally existed or you'll have doubles. I didn't think spectrum has sbus since it's a protocol that belongs to heir competitor.

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

The MODES I'm referring to have nothing to do with the stick configuration (mode 1 or 2). Just the capabilities it assigns the x8r. If you click the link I provided above for the x8r manual - you will see it all explained in the box on page 2.

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

No sweat. I think if you take the time to get comfortable with the Taranis - you'll find that it is a very powerful option. And the cost makes it incredible. But there is a learning curve. The computer editing helps make that less an issue for me.

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

No. It will not change the channel out out. That is dictated by the Baza (which channel it wants to see if using sbus). I made a mistake. If you want full 16 channels - it's MODE 4. That's what I use. With your description, MODE 4 would be fine (no jumper). Binding in different MODES only...

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

The Taranis I have is hooked up exactly as you are describing. Except that I didn't mind "skipping" the 2 channels, because I use them. They are used for gimbal control, or if you don't have a gimbal, for tuning at the field. Both of these are key options, so I think of them as necessary...

    Next machine?

You could go check out the group build threads in the beginner's section that Bartman did. That will have walkthroughs and specifics about all the components. You don't need to follow their choices for products - but you'll get the idea of what's needed, and can start putting a list together for...

    Next machine?

You could definitely put something decent together for that - but you'd have to check to see if the gopro clone would fit the tarot T2D gimbal. Take a look at the DJI frames (or clones). They are inexpensive, and you can build from there.

No it won't. Please explain why you want channel 5 to be the flignt mode switch.

Wow. That is cheap. The ones I got were more than that - but not T-Motkr prices.

    Are all ESCs the same?

All the brands listed above should be fine for your build, and 30A seems to be the best bet. Find one that fits your budget, and have at it. Might want to do a bit of research about your specific motor and the brand/firmware you choose before pulling the trigger. For instance, simonk doesn't...

    Learning the Basic's ?

If you have a larger craft - you may want to look into a trainer quad or a simulator on the computer. Something to get the sticks down and the orientation.
