Awesome pics! Wish I could have been there!!!

Aye Up Vislaw.. I doubt you would have wanted to be here in the English weather when you are in Cali! it was blowing 17mph gusts and raining at 8ºc!

My dream is to get back and fly drive my ADX3 all the way down HY1!

A worthy goal, my friend. Get your butt over here and we'll go fly Big Sur.....

Hogs Breath for a steak and surfing at Pizmo... as a finish!

I'am packing! ;-)

Well that was a most enjoyable day, 17 mph of wind just added to it. Here's some more pictures from it.

A lot was learnt and much wisdom was exchanged, so many thanks to Geoff and Dave. We're off to see Yoda for instructions on what to do next :)

Hi there. I've just had my maiden flight of my recently finished ADX3/WKM from Geoff at Quadcopters. This is only my second build, a MultiWii quad being my first and the difference is amazing. Here are a few photos of the build and flight. Unfortunately my GH2 decided to fry my card so I lost the video.

I'm very happy with the build.
After much head scratching trying to get the ESCs to fit between the center plates I decided to put them on top and then put the FC and radio gear on another plate made out of 3mm acrylic on 25mm spacers. This was laser cut by a friend of mine and I have the plans if anyone wants it.
I connected the ESCs to a distro board from MultiWiiCopter. This is sandwiched between 12mm spacers under the new acrylic plate.
The only thing I don't like is the mess of ESC wires going in to the FC and the ferrite rings (I think that's what they are called).
There seems to be mixed opinion on taking these off.
If you see any glaring errors please let me know.
Can't wait to get a camera on it now.
Cheers,
Jem

Dave, would you say those Axi's have more power/torque output than the avrotos 2814's. I ask because you seem to be lifting a fair amount of camera and battery.

Aye Up IA.. sorry for he late reply but have been a tad busy trying to pay for my MR addiction!

I am not familiar with the Avrotos. My take off weight at the moment with the 550d 10/22 lens and two 4250 Overlanders is about 4.2 kg. The new overlanders are 30c and are lighter than the 5000mah 25c. I get the same flight times. I have my TX alarms go off at 6 mins but can easily fly 10/12 depending on wind/flight requirements landing always at 14.1 volts dual pack voltage which still gives me some emergency power.

When working for production companies I always say 6mins per flight max even though if I have to I will do one more take to keep um happy but MR safety is always the most important issue.
