Any university researchers on this forum using multirotors ?

I'd like to do the same with the crowd from ETH in Zurich. Our company has 2 instruments within 100m of their lab, I've probably walked past their window but I've not been able to wrangle a trip there in past two years.... I'll just keep hoping. andy

Any university researchers on this forum using multirotors ?

Is anybody on this forum using Multirotors as part of a university research project ? We see a lot of posts from hobby fliers, aerial photographers/videographers and hardware nuts but I can't remember seeing any university types talking about what they do. andy

    British MR fliers UNITE

Dave ... welcome back. Mulling over things I think we should look at forming an organisation to specifically look after the needs of MR photographers/ videographers and those involved with remote sensing. This gets away from the type of users who focus on surveillance/ paramilitary...

Bowley .. I agree care would have to be taken as to just how far regulation is taken but like you I was thinking more in terms of putting insurance companies and customers at ease. Personally I see nothing wrong with velcro and sticky tape for as long as its used in the right place. I always...

    British MR fliers UNITE

All the talk so far has been about pilot qualifications, that only half the problem. Nothing has been said about the quality of construction of the multirotors. In the light aircraft world there are a lot of home built aircraft but there is an oversight organisation that ensure they are built to...

Slightly trickier to fly than a multi...

Its probably been done using Apple QTVR. All you needed was a tripod with a pan head and make a series of pictures over 360 degrees. Its the same process, in reverse, for all those 360 deg product views you see on web sites. Unfortunately it looks like Apple have dropped support for it recently...

Struggling to decide best route into aerial photography in the UK

I'm with Ross on this. Can anyone explain how the BMFA examiners are appointed ? We would have to use a similar process. As I understand it BNUC handle everything from the biggest drone to the smallest multirotor so can we set some boundaries within which the new organisation would operate...

Multirotors make to New Scientist magazine

Multirotors make it to New Scientist magazine Recent article in New Scientist http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21328506.200-civilian-drones-to-fill-the-skies-after-law-shakeup.html A more positve view than the usual privacy scaremongering. andy

Hey Dave. How is the Naza standing up to the cold there? I was abit worried when I took the Hex from 21degrees indoors straight to -7 outside and sent it straight up above the fog where i could only hear it but not see it. looking forward to the video from Lapland. Lec

Nice stuff. I guess this is where MR's really come into their own because it is so quick & unobtrusive. Hoping the fog will be down tomorrow for me to have another go.

Great photos Kilby. I have been getting abit hung up on video and totally forgot about still but with the recent weather we have been having over here I wanted to try my hand at it again. Haven't flown in a city environment yet but visited Sau Paulo & Rio over christmas and saw some perfect...

Hoping this will follow on the footsteps of Droiders popular 'show us what you filmed' thread. I thought we could have one for stills taken from MR's. A few shots following with some late evening mist over the local village. & one working out how high the fog was this morning the answer was...

Need opinions on the Graupner MX series 2.4Ghz HoTT radio systems!!

There has been no interference between telemetry and control. The range for the telemetry has not been pushed to the limit yet but we have flown to around 0.5Km and seen no problems. andy
