    Loc-tite on Prop studs

Does anyone use Nyloc nuts rather than the plain nuts you get with motors ? Are aluminium ones as suitable as steel ones ? andy

    MK Hexa becomes Droidworx Y6

We transplanted the brain of our MK Hexa into a new Droidworx ADX3HL frame and tonight it flew for the first time. We got a lot of help from various older posts on the forum and used the mixer recommended by Ovdt and used Crtl+Setup in MKtools to get the motors turning the correct way as...

    Mikrokopter RECOM dc-dc regulator

The pin out connections on some 5v regulators have a different order to normal. Its easy to get caught out so double check. Also if your old Recom burnt out, it did so for a reason so don't assume no damage was done else where. Good luck andy

    British MR fliers UNITE

Just to put a perspective on things. This is what model flyers can do. Look at the size, speed and controllability especially the landings. It makes MRs look like butterflies in comparison. No one raises an eyebrow about this. www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=zYPag3LuKlA If anyone watched TopGear...

    British MR fliers UNITE

Bowley has laid things out very comprehensively. I have to agree with him that the authorities will say a UAV is a UAV no matter what size or application so why can hobby fliers go unregulated? They can take a cheap test with the BMFA, if they want, and go out and enjoy themselves in pretty much...

    British MR fliers UNITE

Dave ... Do we know what the EuroUSE standards are ? Is there a published document, can't find one on the web. One thing we will need is a reasonable number of potential certification seekers. It would certainly have to be more than on this forum. Without those it cannot be self supporting. So...

Any university researchers on this forum using multirotors ?

Shawn, You seem to the only science researcher taking full advantage of multi rotors on this forum. Its a bit disappointing given the possibilities presented. I just wonder if its lack of exposure in the scientific world thats holding things back or bad press ? A little while back an Ignoble...

How do people attach batteries to their Droidworx frame

We are using brick shaped LiPos and with the single strap it seemed to move easily from side to side. The only thing preventing it sliding out was hitting the leg brace of the landing gear. The flat MK one would have missed it and gone flying off into space, so we won't be using that one. andy

How do people attach batteries to their Droidworx frame

Moving across from an MK Hexa to a Droidworx AD3X-HL and I find the way to attach the battery seems less secure and slower to do than the MK. The MK has a nice box to slip the battery into with a velcro strap secure it. The Droidworx has only a simple velcro strap. Is this good in practice or...

12 or 13 inch props for Droidworx adx-3 HL ?

I think there are plenty out there but they have already posted all the info I need. Search thru old postings has turned up a lot of useful info. At the moment I'm probably going for 13x6 top and bottom. I think the different size thing was never really proven and is impractical if you have to...

12 or 13 inch props for Droidworx adx-3 HL ?

We took the plunge and upgraded from a MK Hexa to a Droidworx adx-3HL. Thanks Geoff. The motors are Quadcopters.co.uk Torxpower 3536 Pro and we're retaining the MK electronics. Payload will be a Sony NEX-5 or Canon 500D on an AV130 gimbal. What are the recommendations for suitable props ? andy

looking for suggestion on a video downlink system

I'll go with srbell and say the Iftron gear is a good choice. Just need the correct aerial for the situation. See the other thread about a 100% downlink. andy

    Anyone have a 100% reliable 5.8Ghz video downlink ?

Thanks for that. My thinking for having 2 cloverleaves was to allow the diversity Rx to cope with multipath reception. We like to fly down in the woods as much as open country and trees will disrupt signal pathways potentially compromising reception at one aerial. It would then be up to the...

    Anyone have a 100% reliable 5.8Ghz video downlink ?

A quick extra question .. I'm using a diversity Rx so what is the best mix of aerials if I have a cloverleaf on the Tx? Circular polarized patch (Vitenna -8dB) + circular cloverleaf or 2x circular cloverleaf ? andy

    Anyone have a 100% reliable 5.8Ghz video downlink ?

We have an important project coming up and our video downlink is being problematical. It is impossible to maintain the link 100% of the time. The performance of the whole package, Mini ccd camera/Mondo Stinger 500mW Tx/Yellow Jacket Passport diversity Rx / one rubber duck-one patch antenna /...
