Agreed ... We've noticed shooting raw does produce much better images than the overactive 'in camera' jgeg conversion, so have given up on jpeg shots.

Where have all the 4S >5000mAh Lipos gone in the UK ?

Gunter - which ones ? Long delivery may due to forced transport by sea. See below. Jake - May have to settle for lower capacity, 3900 to 5000 just didn't seem a big enough difference Jes111 - Air freight companies are definitely waking up to the risk of transporting Lipos and two cargo flight...

Where have all the 4S >5000mAh Lipos gone in the UK ?

Thanks for that, just checked. Unfortunately they only have MK flat pack Lipos at high capacities, have to keep looking. andy

cheers. it was this first time i have ever shot actually having the camera feed rather than a pov cam & I can defiantly say it is the way to go. So much better being able to see onscreen info & the actual field of view. Just wish I had more time each morning before work! Lec

Thanks KIlby. It's a NEX5 with 16mm lens. Shooting on intelligent auto function, vivid colour setting & RAW quality. Hope this weather holds so i can do some good video tests. Lec

Just a couple of shots from this mornings flight testing the shutter release & HDMI converter on the new Y6. Lec

Where have all the 4S >5000mAh Lipos gone in the UK ?

Now our ADX3H heavylift Y6 is flying, the 3900mAh Lipos seem a little inadequate so I've been looking for some 4S Lipos with a capacity greater than 5000mAh and a high C rating. A sweep of all the usual suspects has produced a 100% out of stock response. I'm not counting the dodgy eBay Hong Kong...

Is the F450 the new go to?

Would anyone hand a complete stranger with pretty much zero R/C experience their Tx, point at their multirotor and say ' fly that! ' Well AirconRob did to me with his F450. With a bit of gentle instruction I was away..... and pretty much straight into the nearest overhead power line. Two broken...

    Video feed

The weather is sh*t here as well, puts paid to any test flying. Nice job on the HDMI converter. A couple of pics of my effort with an NEX-5 for comparison. andy

Tripod Screw or just the thread and a plastic Washer

The thread for a tripod mount is 1/4-20 UNC or 1/4-20 BSW (Whitworth). So why not buy a bolt cut it down to the size required, discard the bolt head and use a wing nut to tighten it up. andy

    Is size important.

Excellent. Best 10 minutes I've spent in a while. Still a little confused as to how much computing is done actually on board the quadrotors and how much preprocessed data is supplied from the motion capture system or external operator. Also if small size equals agility and agility equals...

Mikrokopter Why does our MK/Droidworx Y6 yaw better clockwise than anticlockwise ?

I too like a happy ending. Kudos to Aircon Rob for having a good look around and helping us solve the problem. Now we just need a good test of the new system to unleash it's full power. thanks again Rob. Lec

N.Z. All Blacks take down a MR aircraft

Isn't the real question to ask, if they were the All Blacks why did it take three balls to take the craft down. I expect the coach had a few words with them afterwards. andy

    Hd fpv?

Just picked myself up off the floor after seeing the price of the encoder/decoder pair ! £2K in the UK. But .... looks like really useful gear .... may have to start saving. andy

Mikrokopter Why does our MK/Droidworx Y6 yaw better clockwise than anticlockwise ?

Hats off to Rob ..... Flew tonight with the trued up motors and the yaw has gone. The logged motor currents and temperatures are much more consistent across all the BLs. A happy Zaxis Lec and Andy

Mikrokopter Why does our MK/Droidworx Y6 yaw better clockwise than anticlockwise ?

Spent a bit time truing up the motors. Did it with a combination of steel tape, vernier callipers, short steel rule and a small spirit level plus an iPod Touch running a bubble level app. First got the frame level on a smooth surface, luckily the floor was actually level. Tackled one arm. Took...

Mikrokopter Why does our MK/Droidworx Y6 yaw better clockwise than anticlockwise ?

Dave ... thanks for the tip Another observation.... Reading through the flight log, the current and temperatures for motors 1, 2 & 6 were always low (< 20A,20deg) while those for motors 3, 4 & 5 were always high (>50A, 60 deg ). Motors 1,2,6 turn clockwise, Motors 3,4,5 turn anti clockwise...

Mikrokopter Why does our MK/Droidworx Y6 yaw better clockwise than anticlockwise ?

We had an interesting evening with AirconRob trying to analyse the yaw problem. He's had many years in heli's and has a good eye for things. The most significant discovery was that the problem manifested itself only when flying backwards to the takeoff point. It did not happen if you flew the MR...
