    Is soldering really that hard?

Too much heat could migrate into the esc and damage it. I'm not saying you can't do it but it's like trying to pound nails with a sledge hammer. Way more heat than you need to get the job done.

Help with Tarot 680 build component list

Looking forward to seeing your progress, Remember to be flexible during the build. Some items can only go one way and others can go any way you decide. When I do a build my plans always change on how I mount my batteries, gimbal and FPV system.

    Is soldering really that hard?

140 watts is too much. Connectors will not add that much weight unless you are talking about a really small, lightweight quad and then you should use small lightweight connectors.

Help with Tarot 680 build component list

Yes the open hardware stuff can be made by anyone. Some may use cheaper components but they are virtually all identical. CC3D had several approved vendors that maintained their standards for quality, wouldn't surprise me if pixhawk does the same.

    Props protection

They will probably work just remember there is a CW and a CCW one depending on which way your prop turns. You need both. I installed them on a large MR that I built but haven't taken them off yet. I need to mark them some how so to avoid the mental exercise as to which ones go where. If there...

    Is soldering really that hard?

The butane ones are good for small stuff. A 20/40 watt is probably all you should need.

    Show us your FPV Multicopter

@charleshildalgo That 370 hex is wicked. I bet it hauls ass. The pics make it look larger than it really is. I was thinking about building one after my 250 but I never got any good stick time in with my 250 so I put it off. I fried an ESC on my 250 and haven't got back to it cause I have been...

    Any advantage to switching lens's?

I figure it may help my gimbal run a little easier too. I'm going to keep looking for one. They turn up on Craigslist from time to time. There only $250 new but I'm cursed with the Cheapskate DNA so I will have to suffer through a few months of searching to hopefully save a $100.

    Any advantage to switching lens's?

So I got my gimbal up and running and its tuned decent for now but I will be refining it eventually. I am running an aftermarket gimbal with an alexmos 32 bit controller. I have a sony nex 7 with the stock lens which is an 18-55mm. I am considering changing it to the 16mm pancake lens. Is it...

How to get AlexMos to stop Vibrating? Hit it with a Hammer?

I'm in the same boat. Just bought my first non go pro gimbal with Alexmos. I have got it semi good on the stand but know its going to need more work. I just mounted it on my MR today and will continue with the tuning. The more I look into it the more I just want to get a movi. I am also...

With fmkit's and mattwelli's plant videos I thought I would post mine too. I worked at this coal fired power plant for 22 years before it was decommissioned in 2012. I'm very familiar with the term "turnaround". This is footage of the demolition process.

Help with Tarot 680 build component list

I just went back and reviewed my build log on youtube and I couldn't find the weight anywhere. I must have just figured I was way under and didn't bother to do it. I just weighed everything now, I run a single 4s battery 5000mah or 8000mah. I get 1918g for the multirotor only, camera and gimbal...

This is nothing special. I didn't cant the camera down to get the props out of the shot. I have been wanting to try to fly super low over a field for some time now.

Help with Tarot 680 build component list

Decide what type of battery connectors you want now and buy a bunch so you have them as you add battery's. I have a 680 with a gopro on a gimbal and its overrated for that small of a load. It will take an extra battery for your fpv /gimbal no problem. I run 13 inch props and I like them. I used...

    Cameras transmitters and heat question.

600 puts out a fair amount. something to try would be to just set the 250 on a table or something with no real airflow over it and just see how it preforms over an hour or so. If you don't fry it or burn down the house then your probably good to go.

where to purchase lipos 8000mah or larger? Hobby King will no longer ship!

I have ordered from the west coast warehouse recently as well. This would be very bad news if they couldn't ship lipo's.

    Cameras transmitters and heat question.

The camera is probably not an issue. The video transmitter on the other hand may be. The higher the output the more heat. I would get the lowest power output video transmitter you can find. They make them as low as 25mw but the range isn't that great. Remember, never power up your video...

5.8 Ghz Antennae - need knowledge

Fat shark and immersion are cross compatible as far as I remember. Be careful with some of the older stuff as the game keeps changing due to the popularity of mini quad racing. There are 40 channels now I think, the old ones haven't gone away they just keep adding more. If your going to use 5.8...
