Options to make GoPro waterproof or utilize stock housing

I would try to use the original go pro case. BTW whats the "getterback" recovery device?

FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

Yes and no. I get what your saying but there's still plenty of room to enjoy this hobby without worrying about breaking the law. Technically FPV could be looked at as illegal because your supposed to maintain visual contact with the craft at all times but it is not banned specifically. I don't...

    Russian combat drone footage

I would like to think you could counter that threat with a rifle with tracer rounds. It may take a few shots to zero in on it but one solid hit should down it.

    What FC

Well there is no best, only different opinions. DJI stuff is fairly plug and play and has a good following but they also have a lot of detractors as well. Pixhawk is a open hardware platform that looks good and does everything you mentioned but I haven't used it myself.

Stuck wiring adjustable BEC to Lumenier PDB

And just to clarify something else. I think you have your top pic mislabeled as well. It appears that the two pics are of opposite sides of the board. If that's true then on the top pic it looks to me that right side is battery or PDB in (+on top - on bottom) and the left side is the adjusted...

Stuck wiring adjustable BEC to Lumenier PDB

Your meter is on the right channel. The bottom pic is a little blurry and it looks different from the top pic. On the bottom pic the left side is batt in (or where you would connect from your PDB). positive on top negative on bottom, at least that's how I see it. On the right side is the...

    Do You Use FPV Goggles?

I bought a set early on and rarely use them. I use a 8" screen instead now. They are definitely good for racing but for aerial filming I think you are at a disadvantage with them.

How much to charge the customer?

This is a good topic. Lets say you got a half day job. what does that equate to in actual air time? If someone paid for a half day would they expect you to show up with enough batteries for 4 hours of flight? That's a lot of batteries. Granted you can charge batteries in the field but they have...

    Naze32 Arming issues when outside

Yeah I hate to seem like were blowing you off but I haven't used the Naze 32. Wish I could offer suggestions.

    Darwin at work again?

This article wasn't presented to expose the dangers posed by drones but the lack of common sense by the operator. No one is saying drones are or are not dangerous just the douche bag operators that lack any foresight as to the negative public perception that their actions bring. We're being...

    Darwin at work again?

Thank God he wasn't carrying any pennies on that drone. Could you imagine being hit by one of those!

First Flight on my Tarot 960

Naza M V-2. I know a lot of people like to hate on DJI but that's what I have been using for all of my builds. It fits my needs.

Questions for a middle school program

It's possible that you could buy 3 different brands of quads and they would each use a different frequency an not interfere with each other. I wish I knew for sure but I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. That's why I would run it by a hobby store in your area, they may have a...

Questions for a middle school program

Stay with the light weight quads that are for indoor use. It should have prop guards on it and a removable battery so you can just switch it out with a fresh one and keep flying.. the problem is with the remote control. It's likely that if you bought 2 or 3 (or more) that they would all use the...

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

Maybe they were just too optimistic with there release date but I will be watching for reviews when it finally does arrive. I would rather they get it right than release it with issues and address them after everyone complains.

First Flight on my Tarot 960

It's always good when things work exactly how you've planned. Nice and level, good hold in GPS mode, 15 minutes without camera and gimbal, my FPV system is still giving me grief but that's a minor issue. Time to get my gimbal set up.

500.00 budget - which FPV to get.....

There are plenty of quads that you can get in ready to fly (RTF) for $500 bucks.
