500.00 budget - which FPV to get.....

Walkera is an okay machine but I have heard some people have had bad experiences with their customer service. If your not willing to build, which would include buying a radio transmitter then your limited to a package deal that includes a radio which will likely be matched to that multi rotor...

    Gimbal connection to receiver

That's what I was initially leading up too in my original post. On the page where you bind is a setting that you can make 1-16. It may be at 1-8 on yours.

    Gimbal connection to receiver

Well I'm no gimbal expert but I guess its safe to assume that it's not the receiver. It may be the set up on the radio but you could prove that by hooking up a servo to Ch 11 and 12 to prove they have an output signal. After that your left with the gimbal itself.

Does ch 9 and 10 (landing gear and fpv cam switch) work?

    Tarot landing gear setup

I seem to remember someone saying they had a problem similar to this and it was due to not enough current so one leg cut out or something like that. I dont remember the details but it was drawing too much power or something so one side would cut out. Come to think about it it may have been too...

    First 'bad' crash

A good hobby shop is a great thing to have. There's 2 in my vicinity but their both 45 minutes away in opposite directions. So I have to really need something bad to go to them. Lucky for me there's a multirotor website that has their physical warehouse where they ship from in my area so if I...

problem with taranis x9d and nasa v2

I hate to direct you elsewhere but its a long explanation to correct your problem. I'm not exactly sure why it's doing that but I seem to recall having the same situation with it switching to that GV1 parameter. I (and countless others) use Dennis Baldwin's videos on youtube. Just search his...

Great idea. I might just try that if I run out of options.

Help me make sure my math is right for choosing my battery.

BTW, Hobbyking has an East coast and West coast warehouse now. They don't have as much in stock as their China warehouse but you can usually do fairly well and shipping wont kill you. You select it at the top of the column where it says "global warehouse" I have used turnigy nano techbatteries...

Help me make sure my math is right for choosing my battery.

"So the glacier battery should yeild (30 x 2.2) 66 amps" Yes that's right, that's peak discharge. 10.2 amps is max draw per motor (according to the chart) but you wont likely ever see that for more than a brief period. A 30 c battery for a mini quad is fine. A lot of people will tell you to buy...

    Remote shutter

Just finished up a Tarot 960 build and I'm setting up my gimbal/camera. I set up a remote shutter on my sony nex 7 and the electronic IR module seemed to be working fine but it would only trigger the video function occasionally and the photo function would miss every now and then too. I had the...

    First 'bad' crash

Yes, you would just leave off the extra set of motors, props, ESC's. You cant always have your cake and eat it too. It would be a heavy frame made for a large payload so it "might" not work. You would be better off designing it yourself.

    Not that I'm aware of.

    Battery Distributors in LA

With batteries being harder and harder to ship I wonder if its time for someone to start a battery rental business. You can already rent a camera and lens, why not batteries too?

    First 'bad' crash

I personally think that the 450 flame wheel or clone is a logical next step up from where your at now. You can buy a complete kit or spec one out yourself and it wont cost a lot. You wont regret it one bit. A mini 250 racer is a good choice for a first build as well. I'm not into racing but...

    First 'bad' crash

I have had 2 crashes where the craft needed to be almost completely rebuilt. My worst one skipped off my neighbors truck windshield and smashed into his house. The quad practically exploded, what was left was upside down at full throttle, it wore the prop nuts down to nubs before the battery...
