    What's in your MR hangar?

My hangar.... 1. A commercial prototype heavy lift V4/V8 (Nex5 gimbal range). Currently without top plate and gimbal in pic. 2. Medium lift conventional X4 (Gopro gimbal range) 3. Ubiquitous TBS Disco (currently fitted for night duty) 4. 240 size KK fun X4 for club night at gymnasium All apart...

Tiger Motors 4014 330kv or 400kv - which would you chose.

Ironically, I looked at all the t-motor MN4xxx motors (being somewhat of a tmotor loyalist), but found that there was a "max watts" limit to them (300-ish watts), when used on a quad. The MT3515's were perfect (900watts), but very heavy. So I went with the best of both worlds - Sunnysky x4112s...

    V6 and V8 Frame Designs

I've built one of these. Still running it in V4 at the moment - will upgrade to V8 soon. This is it with a TBC Disco for size comparison.

    Decent screws!

Hi guys, I'm doing a custom build quad, and have been ordering some part from China...and come to regret it. One area in particular...the screws! Where do they get them from??? They are utter rubbish - they seem to use a 2.65245mm hex head, which even when you can get an allen key that fits...

    s800 Flip of Death

Yes, "something with a camera". And DJI S800 arms. And S800 legs. And S800 centre plates. And the new DJI combo motors. And a DJI GPS. Apart from those things, nothing that would identify this as a S800. No sirree...

    what bout this T-motor?

I like the black. For more constructive responses, maybe you could go into more detail about your rig, and what you intend to do with it?

Am i being over cautious here?

    Errr....you got that right? 1C on a 10.9A is....10.9A. It takes 90 minutes...? If you're charging a 10Ah at 4C it should take 20 minutes...not 6 hours...:frog:

    MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 APM 2.5 / 2.6 on 6S setup

+1 - I do this too, with a slight modifier, in that I use a single 3S 1300 with the 3DR power module to run all the electronics. Only downside to this approach is the compassmot process is throttle-based; you won't get as accurate flight as you do with the current method. I have a compassmot of...

Sony Nex-5r and Nex-6 remote setting apps?

Are you using this while on the airframe? I hope you're using 5ghz..a wifi transmitter than close to the rx will mash all over the normal 2.4 signal.

Am i being over cautious here?

I blew big wedge on a Maxamps 10900 6S, and I thought I was being a baby - I land at 3.5V (3.65V idle), and so far, the pack is doing ok, with maybe only the tiniest bit of puffing. I always balance charge at 1C. I typically put in around 9000 or so. Hopefully this is cautious enough.

Improved gimbal performance on quadframe.com legs

Hi guys, After drumming my head against the wall trying to source the problems with my RCtimer gimbal, I eventually traced one of them to a physical problem, not a PID one. Basically, the entire gimbal itself was moving when exposed to lateral accelerations in X and Y axis - in...

Can I also add...I'd like to have some M2.5 x 37mm versions too. Most of the stuff coming out of China in 12.9 is just pure garbage.

    NAVIGATOR SERIES of Tiger motor

Ah yes - apologies - I was assuming quad, not octo. 800g...dangerously close to a kilo, innit? :)

    NAVIGATOR SERIES of Tiger motor

Interested in your assessment; the MT gives better flight times, more thrust and is more efficient. Surely then the extra weight is irrelevant? If an extra 400g of weight gives me an extra 3 minutes of flight time, I'm taking it. :-) It should be noted that I'm keeping within all safe...

New quadframe brushless gimbal - ongoing issues

Hi guys, Still struggling to get this optimised, and I've been up and down the PID and power scales. Ignore the yawing (and poor pilot skills!) in this video, but can anyone see what the problem is with the "bobbling" in roll around dead centre? It should be totally level, but you can see...

    Nooooo...

ok, big mistake...managed to break off and damaged the USB port on my alexmos! So...I can use the serial connection using a FTDI cable...except I can't! I can't seem to get the cable to work! I keep getting a "Serial corrupt" message, and the alexmos just crashes and resets when you trying to...

Care to share your thoughts on your GoPro brushless gimbal??

I'm using the new quadframe.com brushless gimbal. 34euro's and fits directly to the quadframe legs which is really handy! Lighter than the Rctimer too. However...it's not that easy to tune. See attached - an Alexmos powering 2 x T-motor 2208's lifting a gopro2. The roll axis is just not stable...

    New quadframe brushless gimbal

Well, I've ironed out most of the problems, but am still stuck with one. I get a low amplitude vibration on the pitch axis beyond 20'... But only when pitching forward! Pitch back... And it's fine all the way to 45'! Tried a load of different power and PhD settings, rebalanced it...
