    Hoverfly Big Boy Setup Questions

kloner, am I understanding correctly that with my Futaba 8FG I did the right thing in going with two 5.8 VTx? That had I gone with a 2.4 and a 5.8, it could lead to a crash of my MR?

Some radio advice for my planned setup.

I love my Futaba 8FGs. They have 14 channels, lots of controls, and are very sturdy.

Links to purchase aftermarket props for DJI F450??

I echo the sentiment as well. I have the 1038s on both my f450 and f550, and they have faired very well and seem nearly indestructible.

    What do I need?

tbird, there are just so many options... You would really need to give us much more to go by to help you narrow the field. - so are you wanti two cameras mounted at the same time? Or just one for both FPV and HD? If two cameras, why? - why do you want a hex over a quad? - will you be wanting...

    Hoverfly Big Boy Setup Questions

Two downlinks, with only the pilot's VTx setup for switching (thru the OSD). So up til now I fly by LOS with the occasional look down to my screen to the HD camera, but throws me off a little when the camera guy is not pointing forward. Hence why I'm adding the Fpv camera. I don't plan to...

Is this the new zenmuse evo ?

DJI lists on its website all of their official dealers. I only buy DJI stuff from those listed there to prevent getting a clone.

    Chrome browser doesn't love MultiRotorForums.com!

Same here... Though in my case it's the iPad. I have tomcopynthe the video link and paste in the browser since it won't play the embedded.... And that just seems to start 2ish weeks ago.

    Want more air time

My F450 + GPS + Zen + GoPro + video downlink gets about 11-13 minutes on a single 3S 6000mah battery with LEDs on the front and back (I.e. 4 strips of ~40 cm).

    Hoverfly Big Boy Setup Questions

On my S800 setup, i am currently setting up the pilot's downlink is setup to switch between the FPV camera, and the HD camera; but the camera operators downlink is fixed to the HD camera. For me, the HD camera necessitates the downlink because of the framing requirements for the video. The...

    ESC Testing

I would agree you should be getting more than 2 mins with that... I'm guessing its a hex? And I would agree that one ESC being much warmer than the others isn't good either. However, that doesn't necessarily fault the ESC. Do you know when the split in the cover occurred? Did it coincide...

Always Always clean your lens before takeoff!!!!

Me hace falta latinoamerica viendo eso... Jaja. Gracias a Dios regreso a Costa Rica el mes entrante con mis helicópteros. :) Te sugiero subir tu Yaw Basic Gain para que el MR no no oscile de izquierda a derecha... Aunque no es mucho. Gracias por compartir!

I can confirm that the BT LED is not required for you to upgrade.

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Nice stuff soaringclauz. Much more majestic than mine (see below). Varies, but on average they "explode" about 100-120 ft off the ground. On the fourth of July I shot the following fireworks purely for fun, and I was flying at about 160-200ft at the highest point. I was trying to get the...

S800 Major Crash - The spin of death

That many flights on that solder joint? Wow! That would be cause for serious concern for anybody that has resoldered their ESCs. Thx for the warning.

S800 Major Crash - The spin of death

+1... to me that looks like a cold solder joint that came undone. As Steve said, after the soldering cools, it should looking like a solid mound... not that all of mine look that way, but I'm still learning how to perfect my art of soldering as well. junanata, how long had you been flying the...

Flying over Navy Ships and Offshore rigs.

Denny, out of curiousity, were the boats moving laterally? Up and down and tilted, I don't see a problem. My one time launching from a boat was with it moving forward at about 3kts, and upon takeoff the Naza flipped the quad backwards... the only flip I've had on my MRs, and I attributed it to...

Flying over Navy Ships and Offshore rigs.

Only tip I can give you is to not be in GPS mode when taking off from a moving ship/vehicle. Your MR will just flip itself to try and arrest the movement, however small it may be.

    S800 foldable GPS mount

Agreed... Try to fix and hope it works. For those wondering, even though saidquad and I tried to work out a ship and repair solution, he is in a place right now where shipping is not easily doable. Lets hope his repairs work and he's flying soon.
