Manual focus is the common one to use. Or you can use single-shot-focus where it focuses once when you start recording and maintains that focus for the duration of the recording.

Does your RTH activate in the assistant when you turn off the transmitter? Why did you think the connection 'went south?' I personally never initiate RTH by turning off the transmitter. That completely severs your link to the aircraft at a critical time. Did you have GPS lock (no red flashes)...

Yeah, sounds like a motor/ESC failure. I've had that twitch before and then the ESC failed shortly afterwards. A 90° flip is quite a bit though! Mine wobbled 45° but once the motor stopped it was fine and I brought it home with 5 still running. Replace the suspect arm.

Agree with above. Certainly sounds like a compass issue. I would say re-calibrate again. I had something like this when flying near a large magnetic source. Also affected the Zenmuse horizon. Re-calibration took care of it.

Yes, get a DJI Zenmuse gimbal. They just work. Or the MOVI range which are brilliant and versatile. Or buy another gimbal, find it doesn't work and then buy another one...
