What are you transmitting/receiving your video signal with?

I have the same transmitter, it works well. Are you just transmitting one signal, but receiving it with the two antenna's for the the diversity monitor?

What are you transmitting/receiving your video signal with?

Hi all, Just wanted to get some opinions on what sort of AV/TX system people are using for your MR's? Doesn't necessarily need to be HD, just your most successful setup for day to day use, when you are working in Aerial Photography. i.e. dual transmission, diversity, 5.8gHz, 2.4gHz, signal...

    KDE XF esc's

Most people will be running long (+400mm) motor leads, from the esc to the motors. Is there anything that you have engineered into these esc's that helps cope with the longer run, or should we just run thicker gauge wire up the arms? I'm looking to get a matched system, and the KDE equipment is...

    680 water crash.. Why??

I'm pretty sure the 2nd set of quick green flashes are the Naza telling you its "intelligent Orientation Control" (IOC) has orientated itself. Much like waiting for GPS lock. I've never flown with IOC and have turned it off in the software.

Aeronavics / Droidworx Fitting the Aeronavics PDB inside the dome

Hi there, I am putting together a XM-8, and was wondering if anyone can tell me whether there is any issue fitting the power distribution board from Aeronavics inside the 185mm dome? From the manual it looks like a tight fit. As well as the pdb, I am planning on one extra deck in there as...

    680 water crash.. Why??

I've lost a f550 to water before, but unfortunately it was salt water. It was almost a complete loss, and I'm still hesitant to fly over water. As a preventative, you could use this stuff (link). We call it "Wizards piss" in the film industry and it is a bit magical. You can spray it straight...

    Checking in from Sydney

Welcome. Don't be dismayed, the crashing is a big part of it. As is the rebuilding after a crash. No better way to learn what everything does, and how to make it better.

Flight Controllers; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

That's quite the adventure jfro. I too have a NAZA V2, which is currently on a 550 hexa, and like the way that it flies. I agree, having the ability to switch to GPS mode, when needed is handy. Am currently putting a midsize octocopter together, and am still debating which flight control...

    Came 7000 3 axis gimbal?

Thanks dazzab. Although i'm not flying a SkyJib, it's a Xm-8. Thinner booms, and a smaller diameter with 13" props. Do you think it's pushing it? Does this mean it attached directly to lower plate somehow?

    Came 7000 3 axis gimbal?

Too heavy for a XM-8? Does that mean the gimbal with all 3-axis working weighs in at approx 2kg? That's pretty heavy before you even put a camera on it. I like the look of that gimbal, but am deterred by the weight.

    Came 7000 3 axis gimbal?

Hey Vladimir, what's the weight of the gimbal all up? No camera.

KDE Direct has added Multi-Rotor Heli motors to their lineup

Forgive my ignorance. The numbers I am pulling out of the ecalc are fairly similar, for both the 3520xf and the 4012xf for my flat 8 octo. (Roughly 8kg's, GH3/4 lifting). Can someone the benefits of the higher or lower pole count on these 2 motors. Looking for a whole new set, so they would be...

    Choosing the right gimbal

I am interested in the AlexMos controller, but have been following this thread here with some interest. Could be something better. In the meantime am hunting for a "tried and tested" gimbal that will take the GH3 & 4, as well as the BMPCC.

    Planning on Parallel Batteries

I'd still stay with the 4s, as I think the f550 flies better with them. You could parallel your 3350mAh with another of the same, giving you 6670mAh, which with that frame should last 10mins+. I have heard of people loading up the flamewheels with multiple and larger batteries, but they have...

NAZA MC and Zenmuse GCU vibration mounting

Really? So small vibrations, like those from a motor should have no effect on the NAZA? I'm impressed it that's true. I think I have some foam on there at the moment, but I'll try swapping it out and see how I go. Thanks for the responses.

    Choosing the right gimbal

Thanks dazzab, I hadn't seen that one. What's your reasoning for leaving off the 3rd axis? Are you running this as a single operator? I like that they offer one without the AlexMos board. I'll be keen to see how you go with it. Can you let me know the weight of the gimbal with motors when you...
