    Choosing the right gimbal

Hello everyone out there, I'm looking for a new brushless gimbal to suit the gh3/4 and BMPCC. Trying to avoid a zenmuse so that some camera/lens interchangeability is available. I know there have been plenty of these discussions before, but I'm hoping that there is a gimbal that people have...

The next rig for Yonder Blue Films - "Less Is More"

Same here. How does the Hoverfly atti mode compare to the DJI WK or A2? Preparing a larger rig, and looking for peoples opinions on the best option. It will be a 7-8kg (15-18lb) flat 8.

So jfro, you changed from the Hoverfly Pro to a NAZA V2 on your X8. What was the reasoning behind this?

NAZA MC and Zenmuse GCU vibration mounting

Hi there, What are peoples thoughts when it comes to mounting your Flight controller and Gimbal controller to the frame of your rig? Do you use a vibration dampening gel, or double sided tape, or velco, or something else? I've got a f550 with a Naza M v2 and a H2-2D. Both the Naza main...

    Flip of Death

Did you do the motor test in the NAZA software? To check that each motor is rotating the way it should. It's on the Aircraft page (the 1st page) in the Basic settings menu. Below all the pictures of the different multi-rotors, and motor layouts.

    Massive range problem

Yes I heard that somewhere too. The receiver is now underneath with the antenna support outside the main plates. Working well so far.

    Flip of Death

Lucky you haven't mowed the grass recently. I reckon it's definitely to do with the Naza. Nothing else would cause a reaction like that, unless you are holding the transmitter with your feet. Can you post a picture of the internals, and how you have them laid out?

    Massive range problem

So it turns out I had a short. The lower plate which acts as the PDB for the DJI F550 had some paint removed in one area, exposing some of the inlaid copper. This was causing havoc with the receiver. Replaced the plate, and now I can now fly further than a couple of meters away. Yay :nevreness:

    Battery weight versus performance

It's not that hard to calculate the total max current your rig will pull, or you can use an elogger to get a good idea. The maximum C-rating on a lot of lipo's would have to be taken with a grain of salt, but if you added roughly 20-25% to your maximum draw then you'd be able to figure out the...

    Battery weight versus performance

Reducing the C-rating of the lipo's you use (whilst maintain a safe current-draw buffer) is another way to reduce the weight of the batteries you fly with.

Flight Controllers; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

It's over a year since this was last discussed. With the new inclusion of new firmware, and new products on the market, have people's opinions changed greatly. I'm interested in a flight controller for a large to midsize octo for AP work. Currently flying a NAZA V2 on a smaller rig, and am use...

DJI released its brand new 3-axis gimbal stabilization system, the Zenmuse Z15-BMPCC

Serious question. (Without Dji bashing) I am interested in the Blackmagic Pocket Cam, and if not the dedicated Zenmuse gimbal, what gimbal system would you recommend?

    Aeroxcraft Landing gear suggestions.

So I got the silicone dampers, and they seem to be doing the trick. Mojave, how far forward is your gimbal on the aeroxcraft rails to balance the 2 6000mah lipo's, and what sort of flight time are you getting?

Thanks ferdy. What props are you running on your multi rotor, and what is it? 450, 550, etc. Cheers T

    Vibrations in Wind

That's a good point Stacky. I might try going up a stiffness (tehehe) on the vibration isolation and see if that improves things.

    Vibrations in Wind

I think the vibrations are too high frequency for the gains to be affecting the footage. More of a slight jello-ing of footage in wind. Unless you can manipulate the gains for a zenmuse h3-2d.

    Aeroxcraft Landing gear suggestions.

To all of those that are running a DJI F550 with the nifty AeroXcraft landing gear, I wanted to know if you have found that due to the design, with your camera and gimbal mounted so far out from the body on the metal rails, that any vibrations from the platform are amplified down those rails? I...

    Vibrations in Wind

Hello all of you out there, I have a question with regards to vibrations that are mainly apparent in windy conditions. I'm not talking a gale, but more a constant breeze. Flying a small F550 with a GoPro set up, and am finding that the footage that I obtain from flights that are conducted...
