What is the next step up gonna do for me?

As in everything else, the quality level increases as the price of the equipment and the knowledge level squares.

    DX18 fpv mount needed

I've been using the Secraft for awhile with a Spectrum and Black Pearl. The Velcro method has functioned well with no hint of disastrous release, even after adding a 900mAh 3s battery to the back of the monitor using a little Velcro for extended use time. The only caution I would add is to use...

    DX18 fpv mount needed

Based upon the photo the tray fits the DX18. Perhaps check www.espritmodels.com or other vendor and look at the Secraft tray and monitor mount. A bit pricey just to mount a monitor but the tray and hand rests work out quite nicely.

    Pixhawk Unstable Yaw

It does appear to be something that is set incorrectly since it will yaw in both both directions. QGroundControl I'm not familiar with but a bit later I'll try to grab a screenshot of the PID's on my X-8 and post for possible reference. If I recall correctly there is an "H" selection in...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

I was 18 when I t-boned a Dodge Dart at 50mph. The Dart had blown a red light. Woke up 3 days later all messed up. This was back before helmet requirements. Took a bit over a year to get back to near normal but every day I feel the effects of those injuries 40 years later. Some a lot more...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

Seems my earlier points were missed by some. A full scale license really isn't needed, but an education of the full scale system is. That could be accomplished by a new classification of people known as "operators" not pilots. With their feet on the ground they are not, IMO, pilots. I am...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

I believe our skies will see a great many "drones" of all shapes and sizes. The company I work for has already put more than 2000 of only one type in the air. Other large aerospace firms have produced similar, if not larger numbers and our airspace is large enough to have thousands airborne at...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

In this we come to the division that can either make us or break us. Aviation knowledge does not have to include the ability to fly a full scale airplane. In this I agree. Although I hold a Commercial and Instructor ticket I don't see the need for people that fly very low level, short...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

A commercial driver does have to subject themselves to a medical examination. That medical is virtually the same as a Third Class aviation medical, which in aviation parlance is what qualifies one to start out as a Student Pilot and graduate to Private Pilot. It's not that rigorous. If they...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

You can indeed fly without a medical, but not commercially. We should expect a level of continuity with current commercial standards. The extent is the question. I do agree, at the moment there is no law, but some have positioned themselves to assure continuance when things become law. Sent...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

A biannual for type of aircraft being flown, or more specifically, a multirotor. that should prove interesting. The law, such as it is, is literal so recurrency in a full scale would not meet the applicability requirements. To conduct a biannual one has to have a certificated instructor or FAA...

Here Come The Section 333 Exemption Petitions

So, would 2000 logged UAV hours, 800 full scale, and a commercial ticket help one get in anywhere? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    How to avoing descent wobble/oscillation???

I built a very large heavy lift not too long ago that I knew was going to be too light without a payload under it. With a pair of 10,000 mAh 6s batteries I added a 5.5kG ballast weight under the bottom deck plate before the first flight. Glad I did because at 27.5lbs it lifted off right at 50%...

    How to avoing descent wobble/oscillation???

Good call on the adapter check!!! Funny thing about batteries. It's easy to have one too small or limited in duration. It's easy to have one or more that end up too haevy even though they provide tremendous capacities. The secret is in finding the balance between maximum permissible weight...

    How to avoing descent wobble/oscillation???

Looking at the T-Motor site your motor-prop-voltage combination is rated at 580 g.thrust/motor at 50% throttle. Load the copter up to 2300 grams and see if it lifts off at a true 50% throttle and note how it acts.

    How to avoing descent wobble/oscillation???

Whoa, slow down! First thing in trouble shooting is to do one thing, and one thing only at a time to gauge the impacts of the effort. A 770mm craft is not "too large" by any means and both a WKM or Naza M will fly it just fine once dialed in. Reducing prop size to reduce thrust below max...

    How to avoing descent wobble/oscillation???

I fat fingered 1/4. It was supposed to have been 1/2. Weight is indeed the controlling factor for lift- thrust but size in various areas influences control response, largely via propeller size and motor/ ESC through propeller response. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
