My FPV shopping list. Is it good to go?

Still researching this and thinking the 5800Diversity is what I should get. Better quality, more reliable. I don't expect to go that far initially. It will be in sight at all times but around buildings and trees where I am. Beginner question: The 5800Diversity receivers need 2 antennae right...

Phantom 2 CSC commands. Is this normal?

I've flown an F550 a few times with a NAZA-2 controller and recently had a brief go on a Phantom-2. I had everything ready to go and planned to start up and then turn off. CSC to turn on CSC to turn off. So that meant, simultaneously, left stick to bottom left, right stick to bottom right. All...

I must really install camera BEFORE installing the H3-2D?

I set mine up at first without camera and it made no response other than a few odd noises. It says you will strain motors as it attempts to balance. Once the camera was on it auto corrected perfectly.

    Gimbal calibration problem - H3-2D

Put simply, any tips on getting a gimbal to move smoothly through full movement of the dial? In my case it's the H3-2d-Naza setup. Calibration procedure doesn't seem to work properly.

I think I've ruined my first Lipo

I have a basic 'Turnigy 420' lipo charger so not able to switch to NiCad. I was actually looking for another charger. The one I have does one battery at a time and takes about 3-4 hours it seems to charge. Ideally I'd want one that can do at least 2 at once, and possibly with the NiCad option...

    Another UK-er (run for cover!)

Glad you got it all home in one piece. Looks very similar to what I have right down to do the bouncy landing gear! could you explain what 'gains' are. My guess is it's to do with how fast a stick reacts but not seen an idiots guide anywhere. And how exactly do you play with the gains. Is it Tx...

I think I've ruined my first Lipo

No, nothing on the balancer port - assume that means the charging port? JST? Looking back I wish I had a lipo alarm on it though. But as you say, may be defective?

I think I've ruined my first Lipo

I'm not sure how long it was in for. On and off for about 4 hours. Also not sure what it was connected to as I grabbed both batteries which are identical. They are both 4s 5000mah 30c Zippy Flightmax 1 was connected to a DJI 2.4Ghz BT Ground station. 2 the other to a Naza-2, H3-2D...

    Another UK-er (run for cover!)

Hi Gringers. I think I'm at a similar stage to you in the build (though with no previous Rx experience|) Put the 550 over new year and slowly adding all the extras - GS, FPV etc. I've realised it's getting quite laden with expensive stuff and need some basic flight school training. I ordered a...

I think I've ruined my first Lipo

I've read all the warnings and tips but I didn;t seem to prevent me from trashing a Lipo it seems. I have 2 4S 5000 lipos, both of which I had at 'storage level'. I then used them at that level to do some settings, bench work. One plugged into the NAZA + Gimbal airframe, the other running a...

    Gimbal calibration problem - H3-2D

I've set up my H3-2D gimbal. connected to NAZA and all working fine except the dial - P1 isn't calibrated very well. If I move the pot through it's full sweep the movement of the gimbal occurs between about 15-50% I've done the X1 calibration on the PC but don;t know what more settings there...

    General Advice and opinions please

Fingers crossed my DJI stuff works OK! Pedantic query here maybe...Can I ask what the difference is between FPV and AP other than motive or outcome?!

    General Advice and opinions please

I'm also starting but a few weeks ahead of you (but more of a beginner in a way as I've not been doing an RC stuff previously). I got the F550 as an ARF kit. - Frame, motors, ESCs, screws - kept it simple. Judging by cost of buying motors separately prices seemed OK. £200 for the kit. Frame, 6 x...

    Dual camera, dual broadcast

Good to know. Seems like keeping it simple is route to go for now. 1 camera setup. Will also add in your tips from later post. Cheers!

    Dual camera, dual broadcast

Yes, great help thanks. 1000m was horizontal and is actually an estimate as I don't have the telmetry part yet. Yes, also read the rules you're referring to. It's hard at this stage to know what 400ft actually looks like but I'll find out shortly what the limits are. I'll look into the patch- I...

    Dual camera, dual broadcast

I have an F550 which I just weighed this morning. 2.3Kg with everything on except the FPV gear and secondary mini camera. It says take off weight is 2.4Kg max, so almost hitting that now. It may be the 4s 5000 lipo is not helping. I'm planning to try 3s 4500 with 10" props which should reduce...

    Dual camera, dual broadcast

Hi there, looking to add the FPV part of my setup shortly. Tell me if I'm wrong here but I imagine the best FPV set up for filming is one person flying the aircraft with basic camera facing out front, using goggles. Next, a cameraman is watching a monitor linked to a second camera, say a GoPro...

My FPV shopping list. Is it good to go?

Good to know. It seems it doesn't stop things being sold. I need to see what OFCOM think about it before I end up in trouble.

My FPV shopping list. Is it good to go?

That's interesting. Lilliput seemed a lot higher quality or at least more expensive than anything else I could find. It has an FPV version that allows for static. Is there any 'real fpv screen' that can be recommended. I would go for basic but my director on non aerial stuff wants monitor to be...

Trying to reset to factory 9x firmware - Turnigy 9x

I was playing around with er9x firmware but was running out of time to get it all working. I decided to go back to standard v2 firmware however I get a eeprom error and not able to break out of it. Am I stuck now with er9x? er9x seems the way to go but I can't get it working. ELE won't go past...
