    Understanding NAZA low voltage settings

I've seen various cheap alarm systems on eBay. It says the alarm sounds when one or more cells goes to 3.3v or below. I read elsewhere that cells should never go below 3.3v. Is it OK to use this and fly back when you hear the alarm? Or is there a better technique for this we should know about?

    Understanding NAZA low voltage settings

Hi there, 2nd flight now. 2 time I nearly destroyed my lovely F550. The reason being the low voltage warning seemed to kick in very early. At 16v when the alert was set for 15.5. I'm assuming the difference is the 'loss'. I add that to the setting to allow it to kick in a little later? Maybe...

Alarm sounds useful. Is that a device with audible alarm that sits on the aircraft or is the data fed back to the transmitter somehow?

Turnigy 9x with NAZA2 - Do I need firmware hack?

I'm really struggling to understand how to programme all the different options for the NAZA-2. The 9x has loads of nobs and switches but being able to assign things easily seems very difficult with manuals written for people who have been in the scene already for a long time - or maybe I'm being...

    Battery basics

That's good to know. You say it can be run down to 80%. 80% of 4.2v (the max) is 3.36v (nearly in the 'too low' zone.) I notice on the NAZA control panel via PC that their presets for Second level protection - i.e. 'Shutdown' is 3.7v which is the same as your recommendation. The reason I'm...

    Battery basics

Really useful info thank you. So the basics as I understand them are: Charge battery, making sure each cell goes no go greater than 4.2v (chargers are supposed cut off at this rate) Start flying. Don't drain below 3.3v Top up to 3.7v for optimum storage or discharge to that level if batteries...

    Battery basics

Thanks guys, yes I read Bart's excellent thread on this and will read again so it can sink in a bit more. At the moment I have 2 hefty looking bricks - 4S 5000mah 30c. The discharging gadget is only £7 so will give it a try. Re: Flying to discharge. That's really what I intend to be doing! But...

UPDATE: re: discharging…found this gadget. Is this the solution for the discharge routine? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-in-1-RC-2s-6s-Lipo-Li-Fe-Battery-Balancer-LCD-Voltage-Meter-Tester-Discharger-/140995202983?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item20d3f80fa7

    Battery basics

I've read a number of threads with do's and dont's for LiPo but still have a few questions... I have a brand new 4S 5C battery. When I plug it into a charger it says 1: 50%, 2: 44%, 3:56%, 4:61% I assume this is the current storage of the battery and is in a middle 'storage' level. So do I...

    Micro quad build for training

That's a great help, thanks. I think that might be the best route. BNF with option to buy new props etc. BNF allows me to use the transmitter I have for the F550. This is a Turnigy 9x. BTW looking at a BNF now on eBay it says the copter is compatible with JR DMSS Radios: XG7,XG8,XG11,XG6 /...

    Micro quad build for training

I'm very new to this and crashing my lovely F550. Now wanting to get a micro quad to train up on. I enjoyed the assembly process of the F550 and was looking for a similar kit approach for a micro. I've seen though that the RTF models are way cheaper (£25) than buying all the various bits...

    throttle doesn't change until I reach 50%

I've done my maiden flight with F550 and noticed while setting up too that throttle doesn't seem to change until I reach 50%. I turn on using CSC position so motors spin in idle. Then the revs only change once past 50% up. I have calibrated via USB and App and the min and max seem to correspond...

Heli-x connection - How to do it?

Would be good if it were that simple. So I could go and buy this possibly: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/221079114830?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&lpid=95&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=95&ff19=0 A generic USB to 3.5mm. Heli-x connection - How to do it?

I'm finally flying and had 2 nasty crashes! My DJI-550 is fine but stripped some paintwork from the house. :livid: GPS in open space is lovely but clearly I need to learn to fly properly in ATTI etc. I have a Mac OSX and want to use my Turnigy 9x with HELI-X5. I understand I need a USB...

Turnigy 9x Failsafe switch set up

Yes, I set up in Helimode and got the 3 way switch working. Failsafe also working but still not in GPS. I assign MIX3 but too fiddly and different in behaviour to MIX 1 and 2 which work fine.

Turnigy 9x Failsafe switch set up

Nearly ready with settings but cannot properly set up the failsafe switch. I want to use the gear switch to act as forced failsafe mode. I have done this using PROG123 and assigning each mix1, mix2, mix3 to force the over ride of the 3 way switch. Trouble is MIX3 is different to MIX1 and 2. It...

I'm stuck. Can't set up Naza 2 with Turnigy 9x

I actually got it working. I set it to traditional and not PPM. Not sure why it worked as everywhere I'm told it should be PPM.
