    Motor terminology - Kv

Yep, I was thinking about your other thread. I guess we just need to err on the side of caution when picking a motor. Seems there are variables that are just untrustworthy.

    well that worked out well

I'm sure you're aware that 50% throttle is the goal. While a racer may want a little more "juice" for the fun stuff, 25% may be too low. It will definitely limit your control a bit. For esc throttle calibration, this video explains it fairly well. This would be the typical way, removing the FC...

    Motor terminology - Kv

That definitely makes sense - but would it effect the difference of whether they are incompletely referring to back-emf, or applied voltage? Or are they referring (incompletely) to applied voltage only???

Does the CC3D allow you to calibrate the ESCs from within the program? Keep in mind you can test the motor directions with the props off. Put some tape on the motor with a "tab" sticking off the motor. That way you can feel the direction easier. Also, your wife won't lose an eye that way :)

As I understand it - it's the latter. Applied voltage.

    Camera suggestion

The Sony Nex series can definitely be trigger by infrared. And they are cheap, if you pick up one of the older models. The common trigger can start both video recording and still photos from a switch on the tx. Just not sure if an f550 would be able to lift it with a gimbal.

    Multirotor Advice

Wow! Very interesting. I'm curious to follow along and see what you come up with. Definitely sounds like you're thinking outside the box with each arm being able to articulate. Are you planning on using servos to drive the arms? Will the arms work in conjunction with the speed of the...

    well that worked out well

Woah! Wait a minute. Are you trying to fly this indoors? That would be a problem right there, so let's have you step outside to a safe area when those new props arrive :) If it's drifting, there may be something up other than the weight distribution. What flight controller are you running...

Sorry, not sure I understand the question?

    well that worked out well

For the sake of the quick fox: In the photo, there are 3 motor wires connected to 3 esc wires. Forget the idea of signal (that's on the ESC servo cable). Any 2 wires can be swapped and will reverse the direction on these 3 phase motors. Doesn't matter which two. Just as long as 2 are swapped...

    well that worked out well

If they're not running the correct direction, you just need to swap 2 leads. Doesn't matter which ones. If they are soldered, you'll have to cut them. If there are bullet connectors under that heat shrink, even easier.

    Ronin m $1399. Wow.

In this situation, OCD is a virtue :)
