hey all, Houston here and we have a problem....

Welcome to the forums. What exactly is the problem????

    Motor tones on startup.

It could be one of two things in my mind. Firstly it could be that the ESC requires re-calibration- ideally you should calibrate all ESCs at the same time using an 8 to 1 or 6 to1 plug. Secondly it could be a faulty ESC. Try re-calibrating and see where that takes you.

Skyjib 6 Super with 5D Zenmuse and 1 motor fail (video)

Rob, you are so right there. I see a lot of people flying heavy cameras- eg Reds on rigs that whilst seem perfectly powered with all motors working, would not last if a motor were to fail. The more expensive the camera the more need for redundancy and this is where too many people skimp out.

    Motor RPM

Im guessing that it just sounds faster rather than is actually spinning faster. Reason for this could be something like a dodgy bearing which is causing a noise. Otherwise I am stumped.

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib Ti 8 or x4

There is a lot of talk about coaxes being more stable in wind. Based on the experience of people claiming this, I have little doubt that this is true but purely for interest I wonder if there is any video of two similar specked aircraft tested side be side. It would be intriguing to see what the...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib Ti 8 or x4

I'd go for the 8. If you have a gimbal like the Zen then the supposed extra stability theX4 gives you is irrelevant IMHO as the gimbal can more than handle the way the 8 handles in wind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've only got one set of hands..... pilot, photographer or both?

This looks like turning into a good discussion. In my mind if there is any movement in the aircraft and any movement involved in the video (ie panning, tilting) then this is too much for the pilot to deal with. If you are taking video there is a natural tendancy to get sucked into getting the...

I've only got one set of hands..... pilot, photographer or both?

Having the switches and dials to operate both the aircraft and the camera simultaneously is one thing but to operate the whole setup safely is another. Safety has to be paramount and unless the aircraft is static it is just not safe to operate the aircraft and take video at the same time.

DJI Lightbridge - 2.4G Full HD Digital Video Downlink

Deluge2- fair comments there indeed. I would really need to fully understand the command link before using it though but that understanding will come soon enough. As I said, I will be happy to be proven wrong. The while zen integration is a very interesting point. I wonder what, if any, other...

DJI Lightbridge - 2.4G Full HD Digital Video Downlink

Even more reason to steer clear given DJI's track record of software development of late. Safety has to be paramount and piggybacking on an RF system never designed for this (ie Futaba), especially a command link at that, has my alarm bells ringing big time. I will watch with interest...

DJI Lightbridge - 2.4G Full HD Digital Video Downlink

All I can say is that there is no way in hell you are going to get me to be a 'DJI Beta tester' for this. Using 2.4Ghz as the video TX is simply a bad idea regardless of spread spec tech.

New to multi rotor's and need direction.

Welcome to the forums Cue. The phantom is indeed a great choice and does tick pretty much all of your needs. With that said however, I would perhaps go for a DJI 450 or 550. These are simple kits you need to build but because they can be built you can customize them a bit more. The thing to do...

Should I be worried about my new DJI S800 EVO purchase?

Well they both serve different functions really. The EVO packs down really quickly to a good small size. The Skyjib not so much. The Skyjib will carry a heavier load. I think you really need to do an analysis on what it is you wish to achieve and then get the airframe to suit.
