Apologies if I am teaching you to such eggs but in the past when people haven't been able to get the motors to start it is often because one of the channels is reversed and as a result the combo stick move doesn't work properly. Worth a check.

Hmmm, two purple flashes normally means that you are in GPS mode and that your sticks are not centred. If you can get a vid of what you are seeing, that would help. Have you done the combo stick move to initiate the motors?

Move to 5.26, it works fine and learn the new flashes which are shown in the updated manual. Simples.
