Prop Calc and DJI Stock Motors

No problem, the Graupner 10x5 style carbon fibers for sure need to be on 3S with the 920Kv motors. The higher speed motors won't like the deeper pitch props on 4S and they'll get hot. You can get away with 10x3 DJI style props on 4S though. Since you already have 3S batteries you can stick with...

Prop Calc and DJI Stock Motors

I sent you a link on some 900Kv motors, use the information from that only input 920Kv instead. I hear 4S on the 10x3.8 props from DJI works very well and gives you good flight time. There are going to be quite a few people who disagree with me on this but Gemfan props in my personal opinion are...

    DJI F550 Crash!

I gave you some reasons, when the Naza goes into failsafe if it detects you regained control it'll let you have control. You said you were flipping switches and panicked that's probably what happened. Had you tested failsafe and RTH before this or was this the first time?

    DJI F550 Crash!

There's absolutely no way to know without more information. I can only guess it was not setup properly or in all your flipping and freaking out you crashed it on accident. When you are in failsafe and you regain control the Naza will let you take control back if you are moving the sticks and it...

Prop Calc and DJI Stock Motors

My first question is why change the motors? Keep them, use the 10"x3 new DJI props on 4S and you'll be happy as a hog. Second input is the prop calc is not for multirotors and you won't get accurate data from that, it's for airplanes. Multirotors fly more like helicopters so they are basically...

    FPV relay idea?

The purpose would be to extend the range of your video transmitter which is the weakest link in that setup. UHF radio will go around 25Km with no issues at all where most video setups may go 10-20Km with a perfect setup but a more typical setup around 6-10Km.

    FPV relay idea?

The higher you are, generally speaking, the longer your radio signal will be received and the lower you are the exact opposite. You have a better chance at 1 mile away and 500 feet up than you do at 1 mile away and 5 feet off the ground of receiving a signal.

    coax prop pitch selection

I don't and haven't flow either but I recently switched over back to the Y6 design using Rusty's UAP-2 setup. I'm currently using 11x5 carbon fiber props on both the top and the bottom. I'd say, make sure your props are balanced as perfectly as possible. What flight controller are you using...

Flying safety. oath to not fly over people!

I'd consider that "being able to see". The problem is when you cannot see and fly in that direction anyway hoping for the best. The comments are in regards to the video above.

Flying safety. oath to not fly over people!

Flying FPV backwards and or in a direction in which you cannot see is always a no-no for any aircraft of any kind.

Flying safety. oath to not fly over people!

Wow Jake, you're right...what a DHead indeed. In at least one part he is flying backwards, always a no no for MR's. Then one time he's flying backwards and into the stage area. Who knows what he could hit in there, a simple mic stand strike could cause him to fly 20+mph into the crowd and hurt...

Need some help selecting a propeller and need to know where to get them...

When you say it's hovering at 50% throttle, that is in manual mode right? I'm assuming you are using a Naza flight controller too. You're biggest downfall is that you're flying a heavy craft on a weak power source, 3S. If you were flying with 4S or 5S you'd have substantially more flight time...

    Help choose 5.8 fpv

You can mix and match antennas as long as they are polarized the same and are the same frequency. I use a linear whip antenna with a patch antenna on 900Mhz each. Many people use skewer planar wheels with patch antennas. If your skewer planar antenna is right hand circular polarized then make...

    Another one bites the dust...

Very interesting story. I've trained myself to flip to manual mode as my default action which probably would have allowed you to have control. I actually do 2 things by default, flip to manual mode and hit the throttle up as quick as I can...I can't tell you how many times that's saved me. :)

    Another one bites the dust...

Tomstory2 LOL!!! Good one! That's classic, you should now hook up a heart rate monitor your FPV goggles and record that so we can see your sheer terror :) Good save!

    Help choose 5.8 fpv

Baker55 Notch filters are much better in this case as low pass filters attenuate the signal and can reduce the distance your signal will transmit as well as the quality by reducing the dB gain. Notch filters are the way to go and it's my personal opinion that you should use them whenever you can...

    MultiRotor in Spaaaace ....... X

ZAxis, that was SICK!! Very nice! I'd love to fly during an event like that. I've never seen that rocket before either but cool concept. Just goes to show what the private industry can do given the funds.

Just received what I wanted for a long time....THE PIRATEYE monocular video glasses

Very interesting Chris, let us know what you think after you fly on it a few times. Most people washout of Apache helicopter school because they cannot fly with one eye and use the other eye to do something else, this is the same type of setup so I'm curious what it will do to your equilibrium.

Flying safety. oath to not fly over people!

Dang!! And just wait until this person loses control or crashes into a crowd of people and a bunch of people get hurt. The next thing that will happen is they will ban this entire hobby and none of us will get to fly anymore.
