    Quadcopter newb! Need help..

The setup is ok, it's probably a decent starter package and if you want more later you can upgrade too. The radio looks cheap but again probably a good starter kit etc.

    Quadcopter newb! Need help..

They don't give up and keep coming back, sometimes you get nervous they're going to take you out. I've been in probably 4-5 dog fights with big birds out of 60+ flights and your heart is pounding the whole time, it's super fun. I fly over water but when I do I'm usually in GPS mode and all...

    Quadcopter newb! Need help..

Oh, the gate has been open for some time again now. I haven't been in there in 2 months though, crashed and I just now finished rebuilding. The birds aren't as scared as you think they'd be. I had a few good dog fights with some buzzards. :)

    Quadcopter newb! Need help..

Did they close it again? I just checked not too long ago and it was open. If that area isn't open anymore there is an area right next to it you can use. I fly where-ever I can and I love to fly on the beaches and go up and down the beach exploring etc.

    Quadcopter newb! Need help..

Seems like a decent starter, I'm not familiar with those motors and 40 size motors seem large for that frame. I'm not familiar with Dynam radios here and Spektrum radios are just "okay". The DJI 450 frames are nice but the KK boards aren't fantastic because they typically don't auto-level your...

SunnySky Motors in a Y6 looking for some quick answers...

I dont know for sure if they are or not but I believe the parts are interchangeable and by looks I can't tell the difference other than paint :)

SunnySky Motors in a Y6 looking for some quick answers...

Thanks, I got the motors mounted using the supplied X mounts and I did a test flight...they are much quieter and are more powerful for sure. You can tell the build quality on these is very good and they seem to be balanced very well. I bought 8 and only 1 of them is in question with a possible...

SunnySky Motors in a Y6 looking for some quick answers...

Hey quick follow-up question...I'm about to mount the 2814 Sunnysky 700Kv motors. Did you use the X mounts that came with the motors to mount them to your UAP-2 frame? Also, do you have the UAP2 double block slotted X-base mounts or the Universal anti-vibration mount? Trying to decide on how to...

Battery Life / Flashing Red Led

You need to go into your Naza setup and into the voltage section. There are 2 areas in there, yellow and red. The yellow area is what gives you a warning, the red area is where the Naza forces the craft to land. Let's say you set the yellow area to 11V, you'll get a warning on the Naza LED when...

SunnySky Motors in a Y6 looking for some quick answers...

Very nice and 4kg is very heavy wow, what are you hovering at? 50%? My Y6 is maybe 5-6lbs so I'm wondering if these motors are going to be too powerful or not but I guess I could always prop down too. I have available 10x5 APC, 11x5 Graupner and 12x6 slo-fly basically. Thanks!

SunnySky Motors in a Y6 looking for some quick answers...

Hey all, what is everyone's thoughts on the SunnySky motors? I just bought a set of 8 of them, the 2814 700Kv version, and I'll be putting 6 with 2 spares on my brand new UAP-2 Y6. I hear they are almost the same quality as T-motor and Avroto but for much less. Anyone have any experience with...

Need some help selecting a propeller and need to know where to get them...

@Stacky Hey just a follow-up from an old question. I'm now shopping for motors to replace my old and tired Turnigy NTM 750Kv motors. I was looking at the SunnySky V2814/11 700Kv motors like you mentioned. Are they worth buying, anything I should know about them and what do you think about them...

Prop Calc and DJI Stock Motors

It's like anything technology based, you're going to be working through constant issues dialing everything in to work together. Once you get it all dialed in you get to fly it until you crash it and then, you get to do it all over again. If you have a good knowledge of electronics and are good...

Prop Calc and DJI Stock Motors

Personally, I'd go straight to the TBS discovery if you are considering the 330 and you already have the budget. I'd skip the 330 and keep your 450 for later because once you get your TBS you'll probably never touch it again. If you haven't already check out some videos on YouTube of the TBS...

    DJI F550 Crash!

When you flipped the mode switch you probably regained control and didn't know it which IS what we are saying probably happened. You shouldn't have a switch that allows it to go into failsafe mode unless you are testing it and only for that one time. If you do have a switch for that it should...

Prop Calc and DJI Stock Motors

Ok that clears things up, still not sure on the reason for the motor swap outs though but I completely get the rest and welcome to the addiction, I also have it BADDDD. Since you said it's hard to control your 450 and you have negative expo on it I'm curious why you'd want to go to a smaller...

Prop Calc and DJI Stock Motors

They are very good motors no doubt however, the Sunnysky motors are superior in build quality given the tests I've seen that record how balanced the motors are which I personally assume results in build quality not to mention they are cheaper. I don't see a reason to change motors if you are...

    FPV relay idea?

It is a matter of opinion however this thread is about how to increase the range of your video and will raising the height of your antenna increase your range, i.e. "height of eye". You're entitled to your opinion Dave and you're welcome to share it however as long as no laws are being broken...

    FPV relay idea?

This thread is more about theory and how to get the longest range. For those of us not in the UK I don't think it matters much right now especially if you are flying in remote areas where no one lives like the desert or mountains etc. The basic idea of this thread is called "height of eye". The...
