S900 Owner's Thread and Mini Build Log

Ed, A couple of questions. Could you measure the battery bay so I can understand the max width and height that can fit in there. I was planning to use a 2 battery setup but I am not sure if it will fit. The props that are fitted, are these the same as fitted to the Evo?

    First test fly

Get a cheep lipo balanced plug alarm, at least you will hear if the alarm triggers, you will need to fine tune what voltage you decided to land at for your system, if you set the lipo alarm for 3.6V and then check how much when you recharge you should be adding around 80% of your total...

The ALL New DJI S900 Hexacopter!

Nothing on the DJI website. Has anyone confirmed these prices? Either DJI have changed their pricing policy or this is indeed too cheap when compared to their other line up.

    Accident with Octocopter

I don't like the idea they this is configured at start up and guesses the cell count based on the input voltage, if you were to start with a 50% charged battery the safety device would fail to save your batteries anyway. I can imagine that there is a lot of people that are not aware of this...

    Accident with Octocopter

Regarding the choice for Ni or Lipo cutoff, how does the ESC know when to cut off as it only gets the full battery voltage, not the voltage from each cell. Surely it would need to know the cell count of the battery in order to work this out or does it just go on the starting voltage that is...

A2 CanBus As AUX Power Supply For Receiver??

You do not need 2 Futaba RX just a second one using FAST-MULTI, I use the A2 internal receive with a cheep FR-Sky recover for the gimbal control.

F550 With Naza Dropped From the Sky!!!

Reprogramming the Naza will effect the low battery alarms but should not make it drop out of the sky with 3.95V per cell. I would put a Lipo alarm on the battery to see if it is going low voltage when you climb.

Dji iOSD Mark ii getting heat up

It does get warm but not hot enough to melt cables If you disconnect the AV Signal and vTX cable does it still heat up with power supplied? If not then it sounds like there is a voltage issue powering the camera of vTX as I am not sure how it is connected. Are you using the iOSD to power the vTX?

Testing water damaged ESC / motor?

You can test a motor by spinning it and measuring the voltage across each of the three leads, the voltage should be much the same for each pair of wires, Chances are that there is still water in you esc, it gets behind the heat shrink sleaving, cut off the heat shrink and dry out again...
