Flamewheel 450 with Naza - erratic flying problems.

If you can open the Naza case (havent tried opeining mine) you might check to see if the PCBinside hasnt come loose. The case itself might be firm on the quad but if the PCB inside is loose it will give eratic flight.

    Assistant Software

Try right clicking on the Assistant shortcut icon and select Properties from the pop-up menu. What you see next will depend on your windows version but there should be some compatibility settings that might allow you to change the way the program displays.

    Anyone familiar with FoxtechFPV.com?

My entire FPV video TX/RX system is Foxtech (although not purchased directly from foxtechfpv) and it all works fine and reliably although their channels frequencies are proprietary as are their antenna connectors. I also use Foxtech goggles which I did buy direct from FoxtechFPV and had no...

First timer on a FPV quad

I worked out what stopped my motors from starting this morning. I had the low rate switches on and the Naza wasnt seeing full movement of the sticks when I tried to initiate the startup sequence - Doh !! :dejection:

First timer on a FPV quad

Glad I could help. Tried to do some FPV flights before work this morning and the motors wouldn't start. The Naza initialized and seems to work but can't start the motors. Something to look at tonight but was a bit disappointed because it is a perfect, clear, still morning.

don't use DJI props they snap 8"

Hi Rcmike Was the prop nut that came off from a clockwise prop? Most prop nuts tighten clockwise because they're designed for standard aircraft propellers that spin CCW. A CCW spinning prop acts to tighten the prop nut but a clockwise prop can loosen it especially during the startup or during a...

don't use DJI props they snap 8"

I had one DJI 8" prop that broke a blade at the hub after I cartwheeled it in its early days, but after replacing that one one prop and checking the others thoroughly for stress or damage Ive since had about 30 flights without problems. Can any of you with broken props link possible stress...

First timer on a FPV quad

Well done jack. Looks like you have a great open space to practice in which is pretty handy when youre flying in strong winds. Im a bit restricted in my little local park so I need to pick my weather but I guess it teaches me to fly accurately. Right now Im flying early mornings when there's...

    KK Control Board

David Windestål on rcexplorer.com has some useful information on the KK board. I have one I use on my Tricopter. I bought it from Multircshop last year which is pretty much another version of the same hardware. They use the same firmware. Quad setup for a KK board -...

First timer on a FPV quad

Hi Jack Glad to hear everything went well. Not sure if you were using the GoPro camera but the fisheye lens makes everythink look further away so you tend to land much further away from you than you think you are - then you have to go looking for it - especially if the grass needs mowing...

Is my motor ruined? Video inside

Sounds worse than a bearing. Are you sure you dont have a loose magnet? Theyre only glued in and sometimes they can come loose if they've had an impact. If you can remove the circlip from the end of the shaft and separate the motor you'll seen see if one of the magnets has shifted. If so, glue...

Looks good Kloner. I havent added my legs yet but its on my list. Your setup is pretty much identical to the one I have planned.

First timer on a FPV quad

I'm using the last of the GoPro Hero 1 and it's plug and play. The early GoPro 1 needed a mod to get live video feed but later firmware fixed that. Later models were released with the live video feed feature already installed.

How much range could you expect from 250 mw?

Im using a foxtech 200mw 5.8 GHz transmitter and an RC305 receiver. I have two home made circular polarised antennas - one a cloverleaf and the other a skew planar. Im getting 600 -800 meters line of sight but I do get some noise when there are trees in the way. Im just waiting on a second RC305...

First timer on a FPV quad

Ive had about 8 FPV flights now. The first was the hardest and consisted of several 2 or 3 minute flights with a break in between. Here's what I found when first starting. For me, the first important point is to fly at a location youre familiar with. Once you get some altitude, local knowledge...

Y6 vs X8 octa. Which is better for smooth video recording and redundancy?

Comparing Y configurations, my understanding is that the Y6 is not as smooth for filming as a Tricopter (Y3) due to turbulance caused by the mixing of the upper and lower motor propwash. Can anyone confirm? I know David at rcexplorer built a Y6 after having flown several versions of Tricopter...

FPV setup, Do these components make sense ?

I have a set of cloverleafs I made here for a 1.01GHz system that I havent used yet. They are about 160 mm across at 1.10 GHz which are quite large - too large for my quad but manageable for experimenting on my Tricopter. The size is one factor of why i havent used them yet. Ian
