My first FPV experience... I am SO stupid and ashamed

Hi aWanderer Sorry to hear of your bad experience. You seem to have discovered many of the limitations/tricks of FPV flight in your first attempt. I've only been flying FPV for a few months so my first experiences are still fresh. Some of the things I discovered when I first started FPV pretty...

DJI Wookong M GPS does not work in Australia (for most)

That sounds weird! Im sure there are other WKM users in AUS but I havent heard of any issues mentioned before. Perhaps they can comment. I'll watch this with interest as the F550 & WKM was a consideration for my next vehicle.

Wow!!! Anyone looking for F550 should read....

You could always fit a Flymentor 3D to your heli to bring its stability closer to the F550.

F450 +Naza Newbie Help Please - having problems with 1st flight - really unstable!

Yes weather is good here and the long easter weekend is supposed to be fine and warm. Will be out flying FPV tomorrow morning for sure. Ive run the same gains, props and battery as you currently are with no wobble so it may not be just the gains in your case, especially if its calm. I found the...

Powering the receiver without using a dedicated battery pack

You have the channel leads connected the correct way round? The lighter wire should be signal and the darker wire should be ground (-ve). The +ve is the one in the middle.

Powering the receiver without using a dedicated battery pack

The Naza wont acknowledge the receiver connection until the receiver is locked onto the transmitter. You will need your transmitter on and, if its a 2.4 GHz system, the transmitter and receiver will need to be bound together. Once the receiver is getting a valid signal from the transmitter the...

Powering the receiver without using a dedicated battery pack

When you plug the short cables from the 4 channel outputs on your receiver into the A,E,T & R inputs on the Naza, +5v is automatically supplied back to the RX through the same leads. The leads have 3 wires, +ve, -ve and signal. So once you connect the Naza and receiver together the receiver is...

F450 +Naza Newbie Help Please - having problems with 1st flight - really unstable!

In calm weather you can wind the gains up pretty high, but you might need to reduce them in strong winds to prevent wobble. I'm currently running my gains at 175 and with Graupner 10" props its rock steady in most conditions. On the other hand, with the original DJI 10" props I got considerable...

    DJI F550 which replacement props?

The graupners are becoming the standard replacement for DJI props. They're very efficient and well balanced and they drop right onto the motor shaft. They're also much stiffer than the DJI 10" props so you'll find your F550 will feel much more stable with them. The only downside is they're...

    Which Cheap/Simple OSD?

I'm using the Hobby King OSD. It's made by AeroRc under the Apache brand. So far it's been pretty good. It had problems until the recent software update. Now it works well. It comes with GPS and temperature sensor and shows distance and direction to home, altitude, airspeed voltage for two...

F450 +Naza Newbie Help Please - having problems with 1st flight - really unstable!

Hi Nic. Bad luck about the broken arm. Since it seems you're new at RC it might pay to leave it in ATTI mode until you get your orientation perfected. ATTI mode limits the angle you can obtain and returns it to level if you let the controls go. As for new arms, if theyre out of stock in the...

    Hello from Sydney Australia

The 10x5 graupner props fit perfectly to the DJI F450 motors. They have an 8mm hub, theyre very stiff, nicely balanced and extremely efficient. I get more flight time and power off the Graupners on a 3S that I ever got from the original DJI 8" props on a 4S. The DJI 10" props were so flexible...

    Hello from Sydney Australia

Its pretty well balanced and the Graupner props help with that. I do most of my FPV flying in Atti mode mainly because Im lazy. I fly in manual mode sometimes from the ground though just for the practice. Your Y6 scorpion looks and sounds pretty formidable. How do you find it for vibration with...

    Hello from Sydney Australia

Hi Piccoloflyer Yes I've flown there a few times now - mainly after work during the week. I only discovered it recently. Would be interested to catch up there with you some time. Ive seen a couple of people down there with fixed wing models but no other quads so far. My flamewheel has been...

RC Radio Range on 2.4 GHz

Im using a Spektrum DX6i on my F450 based FPV system and was wondering what RC range others are getting with their standard 2.4 GHz RC system when flying FPV. Ive been reluctant to push mine too far because I havent had an opportunity to do a full ground to air range test. I have a satellite...

    Show us your FPV Multicopter

Heres the latest rendition of my DJI Flamewheel. I recently added an Apache OSD system with GPS, installed the legs, moved the GoPro underneath the frame and fitted a separate FPV camera. I found the GoPro was poor in low light and as its now nearing the end of Daylight Saving Time here, the...
