    BNUC-s vs. RPQ-s?

I get that feeling when I have to navigate nigh on the length of two countries for a 10 minute flight test!

Sky hero spy or spyder ?

With the distinctive assymetrical shape of the Spyder you shouldn't have a problem with orientation. I'm sure someone will chime in with an answer to whether Y6 is more stable than a X8. I would have guessed that with less rotor area to be affected the Y6 would be more stable. I have heard...

Sky hero spy or spyder ?

Never flown a Y6 but yeah coax is far more stable in wind, I think Y6 is best then X8 for stability and like SoCal says 8 is best for redundancy followed by Y6 depending on weight and quad...forget redundancy

That is a fair whack for what amounts to an Ops manual review and currency check!! EuroUSC are 75, add that difference up over a few years....

Well after having looking at the cost for 'Assurance of Airworthiness – Individual Design & Construction Assessment (IDCA)' for a self build or ARTF, lets hope this remains the case.

Probably the proper evolution Jumpy, I guess this is how it should be, ie BNUC rating being a pilot certification to fly any approved system within your class rating. At the moment its like holding a driving licence to drive a particular type ford focus 1.6TDCI and nothing else, not even...

    CAA Qualifications (UK)

I've always said it and still maintain that there should be weight and class ratings, and if the CAA had not effectively offloaded regulation to the private sector then I'm sure it would be. This specific system policy is crippling and a considerable cost on to any build needed.

OK, and they will accredit a BNUC to an RPQ on the ground side of things as well I gather, so for my next flight tests maybe I should go to resourceUAS. Thanks for the info Ben.

    CAA Qualifications (UK)

Thats right Mick you have to sit a flight test for each and every system you want to use for aerial work including clones of already certified systems unless the type has been through design and construction certification. and also if any changes to any system are made this has to be reflected...

    CAA Qualifications (UK)

Also you have to think about, after you have shelled out a fair whack on certification, the cost of maintaining your certification, renewals of BNUC and CAA Permissions each year and any major change in any system, or change of system requires another flight test and another CAA Permission...

Best flight controler on the market (Feb 2014)

I'm not aware that the synapse ever materialized. I think Hoverfly is best for cinematic purpose.

    Steadidrone just launched their

Got to give it to them though, look like nice frames, always fancied a QU4D myself. All there previous frames looked like excellent value, shame the hex and octo are discontinued. The QU4D X just makes me think of what Freefly did with the Movi in terms of pricing...because their target market...

    Steadidrone just launched their

I'm not sure about that Emo, its priced at £11.5K in UK. The small QU4D comes in at around £1000 ARTF!. The UK dealer says that its aimed at commercial users so probably been priced competetively with a few other turnkey systems such as Asctec and aimed a high end companies. If the after sales...

You will not believe what camera took this video.

I see, so possibly yes, must have a peek at said lenses. things seem to be moving so quick its bewildering sometimes in all aspects of flying cameras and stuff. Its a struggle to keep up. Thanks Jesse.

You will not believe what camera took this video.

Does changing the lens improve the light and colour characterics of the Gopro, even the 3 black is still hopeless in low light and so characteristically 'gopro'.

Will iOSD work with V1 on old 2.02 firmware? or does it need the V2 firmware?
