Kloner, what gains are you using on those arms?
Does the length does not induce a resonance in the structure? Since the longer the arm, the more noticeable the "momentum" on the motor propeller, what do you suggest on battery, motor and propeller ?
Thanks

my gains are the same no matter the arms, motors, usually 140-140-120-130 and anywhere between 80-80 and 100-100....... where ever self leveling interaction and i quit knocking heads.

Never seen any resonance, only thing i've witnessed is it can be over propped... at which point becomes extremely unstable

Theres two sweet spots i've hit so far but were bringing in some u series tigers to check through those. the tiger/amp 3515 500kv on 12" without load, 13-14" with load and the standard length arm kit with 2814 and 900-1000kv on 9-10" props..... with the 900-1000kv we run the zippy compact 4s 5000mah packs, on the 3515 we run the zippy compact 6s 2700 mah.....

U5 look promissing, bigger better bearings, more power than 3520 but alot more efficient

These arm kits with the big motors/props have an unbelievable amount of yaw authority if that's what your asking, guessing that's the momentum ?

Thanks kloner, Inspired in you project, I made some inserts ( not very good looking ) for the arms using 16 mm carbon tube and a tarot motor mount, and 3520 with 6s battery at 5000 mAh, the total length of the arm is 36 cms, the quad fly more than 26 mins but there is some yaw; I expect you have your kit soon for sale been waiting since I saw the kit )

Is there a way to correct that yaw?
I used 16" 4.5 prop
Then 14" gemfan and got better

Packing up my Klonerarms TBS NEX-5 Disco for a 3 weeks flying trip in the Philippines. Everything incl fpv equipment etc fits in a backpack. I will bring a full dual redudancy setup so I can go some extreme with flying. Waterbuoys, triple gps systems and gps trackers are set to recover from the most distant crashes. Keep you updated how the Klonerarms and GotheliRC VX5 gimbal delivers in these extreme conditions.

For now only a micro dvr recorder to record the gps position data for later recovery. I have one naza gps, osd gps and robbe/futaba telemetry gps.

Been flying the Klonerarms and GotheliRC VX5 gimbal here in El Nido, Phlilippines. Extreme heat and wind! They stand up pretty good. Videos to come later.

Steve did you ever figure out the 22mm arms or just stuck to perfecting the 16mm? I finally got a used nex and was thinking about a y6 but after seeing Boltzman's disco, I may blow the dust off your old frame and go this route.

they are 16mm, and they come with the kits. there should be a press release shortly, i gotta get up there this week to take care of other biz and will push towards getting the release out.... 4 arms with everything you need for up to 14" props, cut down the tubes if you want it shorter. Just replacing with these running stock length and 2814 with a nice prop is amazing, but you bump it up to a 6s 400-500 kv 3520-3515 it's off the hook. boner material

what kind of flight time with the 6s and 3500kv? 14" props?
