Photohigher skyline rsgs

It should be blue!
Make sure you try to connect the software as you power up the RSGS.

Thanks Ross. The light is solid blue when it's hooked to my laptop and green when functioning. I think I have this problem mostly worked out now. It turns out I had a bad receiver. I swapped it out and now I have SOME control.

The new issues:
When I prop the copter up by the booms and test everything on the skyline it works great. I have control of roll, pan, and tilt (although tilt only points up for some reason, but I can just mount the camera facing backwards). The problem though is that when I place the copter on the floor, the pan servo starts spinning slowly and speeds up until it is just going crazy. When I move the sticks on my TX I get a brief pause and then it starts spinning again.

Any ideas???

I had the same problem so I allocated a 3 position switch so that I could disable the pan when it's on the ground.

Happy new year everyone.

Just a note to the other guys testing 1.5, what do you think? I found it crashes every time I am altering the gains so reverted back to the old FW.

Cheers

Hi Paul,
I don't have any problem with 1.5. It behaves perfectly connected to the PC.
Perhaps now you are back to older FW, try reloading the new software and firmware again.

Hi Paul
I found with V1.5 you need to turn the servos off before altering gains and then save settings then servo back on to change next gain. no more crashs.

Hi guys,

I have a small and may bee a stupid question... I whant to buy the photohigher skyline and read this thread and a german forum thread. At the german thread there was average bad impression to read (that could be the latent negativ engagement :) ) about the photohigher skyline. Now I'm a little irritated. Is the photohigher skyline now good or bad?

Well my honest opinion is that the Skyline is the best of a bad bunch, what I mean is that the Skyline was released before it was market ready and is still in beta stage, the documentation and instructions on the photohigher site could have been written better by a child, the gimble and 360 kits are the same. I am sure they are a wonderful bunch of people with the best intentions but the products still leave a lot to be desired. Having said all that then I still don't see a better product on the market for 360 2 man operation. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The skyline is capable of stunning results, i and my copilot are really impressed by the horizon steadyness of the 1.5 even when flying like a funflyer pilot. As Paul said, it is still beta and some things get solved. One big plus for me is that the skyline is really small and the placement is really clever.

What is out there thats better??

If you can show me a complete set up with 3 axis stabilisation with a comparable price that is any where near the photo higher set up in quality and stability i will buy it tommorrow.
I dont think there is another out there.
I also feel a majority of the bad wraps and problems persons are having or have had are user faults or trying to interface with systems not designed for. This is evident from posts made later to say how they have fixed earlier problems.
I do agree the instructions and help could be better worded and elaborated on.
Cheers

The faults that had in the past dissapeared in September 2012, so since then things have been on the up, in fact version 1.5 of thier firmware is due for release & fromt what I've seen it's only going to get better.
I agree the distructions aren't clear enough, or maybe over the top, I'm not entirely sure to be honest...a more basic step by step guide (7 steps or so) would be far easier for us dummies out there ;) me included ;)

Thanks for the explanation..

I have the same opinion like Helifish. I don't know no system that offers this options like the skyline. I'm a newbie, flying a flightcopter hexa, learning since aug`12 all about multicopter is it hard to find a great system (that won't existe!?) that comply my low requirements. The skyline is intresting in pricing and quality but it is hard to see that some people have trouble with it. At this moment such a system is expensive when it doesn't work well. I like the photohigher, because it is compact and I thnk easy for positioning.
