new naza firmware and assistant software

Hey guys, trying to setup my NAZA to work with my PhotoHigher AV130 gimbal. I haven't successfully updated my firmware yet so I can't take advantage of some of the new features. I am having a little trouble tuning the AV130, which seems to be a common issue on this forum, but I had been using it with some success before trying to upgrade to a better control other than straight from the NAZA. The problem I'm having now is that the roll servo tends to want to rotate counter-clockwise when powered up and basically locks into the end of travel. I have tried reversing the servo settings in the assistant with now success. Any number I type into any of the roll fields has no effect on the situation. I had this happen to me the first time I set this up but I can't seem to remember what I did to remedy the problem. Anyone else encounter this problem.

Thanks,

John

I can definately recommend the IMU calibration. All drift eliminated now, hover perfectly stable and doesnt drift off. Hopefully wont have any of these "lock outs" and its the perfect quad!

even if it does, the hover is worth it. if you ever see it pulling over, just stick with the stick command that corrects what you see till it's heading that way. it's seconds long so it seems like your done, as long as you don't panic and think your stick input is wrong cause it doesn't just stop doing it, your fine. Some people never get it, others deal with it, the rest move on to other controllers with other problems

yes, it'll look like somebody is giving it full left or right, you just hold the stick full right till you see it go full right. Theres a huge lag,,,,,,, stick with it, trust your gut to what direction you see and don't panic. i've dealt with it from fpv and los for 9 months now. it seems to happen with vibes,,,,, i'm 99% sure. i had a crappy prop when mine did it in the video, had to change them right after that shot

between that and fine tuning the gps for forward being forward, this thing really grew up on me....... it started like a little toy and now it's pretty dam cool and all matured in what, 8-9 months, amazing...... Can't wait for the osd.

I'll be trying to program a ppm signal to this thing in a few, god i hope it works.

Check the plug where the wires from the servo connect with the wires that go to the roll potentiometer, you will likely find it loose or about to completely disconnect. The other issue could simply be the roll servo centering is way off to one side, the way to fix that is loosen the rollers so the cradle hangs free of the drive gears then power it all up and manually turn the gear on the roll pot slowly until the servo stops turning, you may have to go all the way to one end of the travel and then back the other way if you're already past center in the direction you start turning. Once you have the servo stopped you can set the center point in the assistant software and then carefully bring the cradle back up and into contact with both gears, then tighten up the rollers to hold it there. Make sure you don't get the rollers too tight, you want the cradle to move freely back and forth with no binding, if you feel tightness anywhere in the travel loosen the rollers slightly.

Just got done upgrading the software/firmware on my F550/Naza.
So far, it has survived the driveway 2' hover test.
Will try & fly it tomorrow (weather pending).

were all doing fine so far. do me a favor, when you boot up your naza to fly, what color is the light inside the naza on top center?

Kloner- I'll check it out tomorrow when I fly it before work.
In the past, I have seen both green and red lights (both solid and blinking) through the case on top
of the Naza before.
When I was going through the dreaded IMU-OFF deal w/ the last one, all I saw was
a red light.

Not sure what it all means, as the manual makes no mention of this light.
Maybe an IMU status indicator?

i'm not sure, but that's what i'm curious for. I got a green lit one and a red lit one. Red lit one has the light on the barometer problem

It's working well for me. Interesting settings that I ended up with Atti at 40 and main gain only 80. everything else default. Rock steady. vented case.

I can't really tell from the manual, but one of the errors that makes the red light come on is bad sat calibration....... if you have one, might try re-calibrating

I have a solid red light so when get home in an hour I'll re-calibrate since I just upgraded to firmware 2.02 and see if it goes away.
