What battery are you planing on using on your s800???

I'm wondering the same thing. Hobby King has some Turnegy Nano tech 6 and 8 amp hour packs that you could run in parallel. At about $100, sounds like a good price. Also, does anyone know where the packs are mounted?

Price $93.87

mAh/Weight Ratio = 7.590

Lets say two Zippy Parallel so 2108g is pretty heavy already.

I am predicting this now from infos in different threads. Z15 with the cam a NEX 5 standard around 1.4 KG. The frame everything on without WKM or any VTX etc around 2.7KG.

So:

Z15, Cam = 1.4 KG
S800 all on = 2.7 kg
WKM extra stuff = 100 g min.

Total 3.9 KG

Two Zippy since lighter than the nano and more realistic due to price also: 2108 g

Total setup around 6 KG.

I would wait for more infos in the motors and whats the max payload two, parallel could lame the bird.

And of coarse would be interesting to know what draw the S800 has fully equipped concerning c rating of the lipo

I will be buying in some Maxamps 11000 mah 6s Lipos for the S800 I think they will be without doubt the best bet , although not the cheapest the weight saving will be worth it .

Thanks Boris, very helpful info, I think I will go with Zippy pack route, Nano tech is too easy to damage, Maxamps is too expensive.

hey guys

great news about s800 / z15 !

a big thank you to all of you who collected infos and footages ! .. im so happy that i ordered the full package.

does anybody know ?

in the pre-order you could order a lipo pack 15000mah. what is that going to be ? 10s ? 2packs of 5s?

i wish you all a great day

Been looking on that on too, but it will not be a 10S, the WKM only supports 6S....;-)

But the Maxamps is also a great way to go....

can anyone speculate the amp draw at hover? 6S lipo and 340KV motor, I would say 7-8 amp for each motors at hover, make it less than 50amp, dont think anyone will do sport-flying with your S800.

Geoff
can you tell us the amp draw?

roughly speculating here, just this could be about right. I don't know the pitch on the props the final weight etc.

But 6s low KV motors the A will be pretty low so all of the C rated lips from above should work.

The motors are 320kv I would say to be honest very little indeed with a 6s Lipo , I have not had time to measure AMP Draw yet but guessing will be about 6 - 7 amp per motor with 10000mah 6s and probably rising to about 9a with gimbal and camera .
These are only guess figures but they will be very low current draw.

I was cruising through all of HK lipos and comparing the Maxamps weight and the saving is substantial. Unfortunately the saving doesn't apply to the cost! For work I'm thinking I'd need at least 4 packs, ouch. I've tried finding something similar, but with no luck. Anyone else find anything?

I am just going with the 5000mAh 6S that I use in my 550 heli. I have enough for quite a few flights without the expense. Once I get everything dialed in I may reconsider.

@Goeff, I noticed in your video you mounted the lipo on the top. Is there anything to mount the lipos on the bottom?
