Learn to walk before you run

Tranquila, from what I understand, that isn't "fixable". When in ATT or GPS mode, the FC is using the throttle input for altitude hold so that a ~50% input equates to holding altitude. While in manual mode it's a straight control and how the aircraft responds is a function of the aircraft...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Kroner, were you on a golf cart following it I'm guessing?

    Hi from Minnesota

I totally understand, but that's why we have such great online forums so we can all help eachother. But if you are serious about this hobby of photo or video on a remote control platform, you should look into that FlySafe training. I took it and it was extremely valuable.

battery help connecting 2 batteries together

John, why do you think that the issue has to do with your discharge rate? If your batteries are not hot after flying, then discharge rate is not your issue. The blinking red LED has more to do with your voltage protection as Olemil indicated. You will want to run calibration on the Naza...

T8FG LS & RS Extension: 3D Printer Project

How did you guys deal with the detent positions on the sliders? That was my biggest problem because of the jumps between those positions. I'm guessing I can up up the transmitter and remove whatever it is causing the detent?

Learn to walk before you run

I would agree with Ben and Maxwell. The F450 and F550 are great learning MRs, and you will be able to build on them as time goes by and still use them in your business (presuming that's what your intent is to do). I would suggest you fly those first without any camera or gimbal and "fly the...

best camera to put on a F550 with stock motors

Oh, and if the point is photography, then do as BurntPixel says. The GoPro and the Sony NEX-5R both have time-lapse photo capability and allow you to take photos at their highest resolution at basically whatever interval you wish. On the GoPro you have the added advantage of 2.7K or 4K video...

best camera to put on a F550 with stock motors

Fanch, I use the GoPro on an F450, and a Sony NEX on an S800. You are correct; the quality of the GoPro does not compare to the quality of the other light weight mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras (Sony NEXs, Panasonic GHs, Sony RXs, or the new Canon). I have friends that use a F550 with...

    Hi from Minnesota

Yes, I have a few AP friends in the Minneapolis area. Eidecom (FlyBoys) is out of Brooklyn Park area. The other 3 are scattered around Minneapolis area, just don't know the exact towns they fly out of. Since you live in that area, you will definitely want to look into FlySafe which will have...

Highlights from a summer shoot at Dewees Island

Benjamin, amazing footage. I love the creativity. AP is definitely an art, and not just a technological wonder. Are you shooting at 60fps? Or higher? And do you have water buoys or something as precaution against total loss when flying over water? Thanks again!

Newb to the hobby and need advice! :D

Yeah, you'll want to come up with a list of US vendors that can get u stuff in 2-3 days. Or in the case of HobbyKing, use the US warehouse when possible. Otherwise plan on 1-3 weeks.

DJI Released New Firmware 3.14 for Naza-M V1、V2 And Phantom!

I am in total agreement with Olof. I have had great experience with AMP, but my go-to dealer has been RCRUS. Twice I expressed problem with a DJI product (GPS once, iOSD the other), and both times they sent me a replacement without me even asking. I have also had great support from...

S800 Noob with EMBARASSING Flight times WTF!

I have my first level voltage set to 22.2V loaded. As for the second level protection, and because of the scare Dewster gave me a couple of weeks ago, I set it way out of the way like at 20V. But I have to BlueCell voltage alarms from Amazon that are set to 3.5V for one, and 3.4V for the other...

S800 Noob with EMBARASSING Flight times WTF!

Just FYi, these are the batteries I use, and they are in stock in the U.S. warehouse: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=20683 I'm not implying the problem is wih the batteries, but just thought I'd address the part of batteries in stock. Your setup sounds pretty much...

    Setting up properly

I hear ya, and no disrespect meant by what I said. But oddly enough, I have never flown a helo, and my first remote aircraft was an Naza controlled MR and I set it up as helicopter on my Futaba, and it was straightforward for me... there was no mixing being done on any channels. It was weeks...

    Setting up properly

Thanks Carapau for stating exactly what I was going to say. I have yet to setup any of my FCs or gimbal transmitters as airplane. They are all setup as helicopters. Crossties are purely something the user *can* setup, just as airplane setups also have crossties available for them as well...

    guesses on the new S800?

I love my S800 as well. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't drooling over the new S800 EVO and some of the improvements/redesigns they are making to it.

    WKM S800 Mounting X-Y-Z

Chris, I totally agree with you. I just through it was humorous. It was for that same reason that I felt it was good to explain the z-axis CG as well. Thanks for sharing, and let's keep the info flowing.

Can I transfer WKM Waypoint to another MR?

Tingoose, are you implying that the license is tied to the IMU? Because when you register it, you provide the WKM hardware ID, not the IMU. But if you are saying that trick works for a fact, it sure would be nice to know.

    regarding IMU and GPS replacement

No, I got a good V2 GPS right off the bat, and mine says "GPS/Compass V2" (http://www.dji-innovations.com/wp-content/themes/dji/store/products/gallery/wkm/wookong-m_gps.jpg). My dealer says that V2 is the latest good version of the GPS, and it's what's on the DJI website. I had read somewhere...
