    Naza or Pixhawk?

Have a look at Universal Ground Station. I think that both Dronedeploy and MapsMadeEasy also have apps that work with Naza.

What did you do with your DJI Inspire 1 today?

I just assumed he was out either making or spending big bucks. Now let's hear from @SMP as well. It's been too long.

Study on bugs in drone software

I see you are already talking with the Arducopter developers on Google Groups and getting some good info from them. The PX4 team will probably be helpful as well. Good luck getting any info from DJI which is unfortunate.

Proud New Owner of DJI Inspire 1. Switched over from the Typhoon

Welcome. The DJI download page for the Inspire is where you can find the newest firmware. When you start the app it will prompt you to update if required providing you have an internet link active. Have fun.

    Props protection

Agreed. Which is why I use these quick release mounts with T-Motor props. Have them on all my copters now and have never looked back. Simply brilliant.

    Your New Ride

There's a video that has a few short clips at the end of it flying. The last shots are obviously CGI PR but I think there are some actual real shots in there.

    Holy Smokes!!! 5 Years!

MRF was a real find for me. I was struggling to obtain the high quality photography I wanted from the air and was beginning to think it just wasn't possible. But then I met a few people here that were doing exactly what I liked professionally. Even better, they were friendly and helpful. How odd...

    Critique please

I haven't done any real estate shots but I do have a photographic background. I'd say if this is your first go at it then you are well on your way. There are small things like the jerky tilt at one point but I'm sure the more you shoot the better it will look. Unless you were lucky, you seem to...

    Wookong M GPS Unresponsive

Is anyone here that has a circa 2013 Wokong M (the one in the plastic case) having issues with the GPS or compass failing? My GPS is taking over 15 minutes to find any satellites. A friend with the same setup had to replace his GPS/compass due to a compass calibration issue and we know a third...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

Unfortunately I can't give you 'official' details but you can probably request them from CASA. I was told from a reputable source that CASA did testing on the DJI copter that lost control while filming a marathon in Geraldton, Western Australia and injured one of the althletes that showed the...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

Well, there was the guy killed by his remote helicopter. He was alone at the time so we can only speculate what happened but apparently it was obvious that he was struck by the main rotor. There was also a young girl killed in a stadium during a demo of RC helicopters in Brazil (I think). Of...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

Several people who know of my MR interest have mentioned this incident to me. I've used it as an example of how emergencies are handled by professionals and pointed out that no one was injured, possibly due to their professionalism. In life, risk can only be mitigated. Insurance companies make a...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

Thanks for that. Finally some useful information about what can cause these situations. My frustration about all this is that it's been going on for so long and no one seems to have done any conclusive lab testing to determine what the issue is. Surely it's not that hard to test so we can once...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

The obvious reason is that the Phantom can't carry professional payloads. Also, in some countries you are required to demonstrate that the copter can fly with a motor out. Good luck doing that with a Phantom.

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

While training to obtain my CASA Operator's Certificate I was told that an independent termination system would be considered a plus if I wanted to apply to fly closer than 30 meters to people/structures. I was in the process of installing such a system when I decided that it simply was not a...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

Depending on what you define as 'danger zone' this may be why Arducopter might not be the best choice for larger camera ships which often times have a hover rate over 50%. Like it or not, much of the professional work produced out there is done on such systems quite successfully. My copter is...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

One thing everyone here is forgetting. This crash did not injure anyone. Perhaps the skill and the planning of the pilot/team had something to do with that? Or maybe it was luck? Everyone here is a pilot of a multirotor. Can you honestly tell me you've never experienced unexpected events? How...

    DJI Inspire 1 Pro against GH4 - 4K videos

So several people have mentioned flying on 7 of 8 motors just fine. Just for the record, are any of you flying at a hover rater over 50%?
