DJI S800 issues with arm to core connection - please be aware !

Hey Jonathan. They questions you asked are quite broad and I hope some others might chime in with their thoughts. In particular, the question about "upgrades" is something that you will get a thousand different opinions on. I personally do not have any third party upgrades. I only have the...

DJI S800 issues with arm to core connection - please be aware !

It looks like I may have a similar problem as you, but I do have the damper kit installed. Last week on two ocassions I could hear arcing coming from inside my M3 connection. However, once I took the arm off and back on, that went away and I seem to be flying OK. However, it does have me on...

Nice job! And you are right, solo operation is quite tricky. The video I just posted above was done solo operator as well, so I know what you mean.

Thanks Ray! Sorry I forgot to post on the info on the post (I put it on all my YouTube description stuff). I use an S800 with Zenmuse carrying a Sony NEX-5R. It's setup for dual or single operator, though for all of that shoot it was setup as single operator (just me). I'll post shortly some...

So returning to the thread subject... ;) Here's a video I just finished of some iconic places back home in Costa Rica. I had some yaw issues while down there due to an ESC or motor going out of whack, and a little of it is still evident in a few scenes.

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

EYM, I tend to disagree with that thought. My understanding is the DG1 and DG2 are separate and unique channels and do not overlap with 1 through 16. I strongly believe that if your transmitter/receiver support DG1/2, that they will work with the HK decoder, regardless of it being a 12, 14, or...

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

Ah, gotcha. Can I ask how you know your transmitter is using 13 and 14? Even if it did, does it matter? Then you would program the SBD to those channels and still get the outputs you wanted. If there was an easy way for me or you to test my SBD with a 12z, I would. If shipping isn't much...

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

Soler, I have to disagree with you on the Hobby King one. I have that working on DG1 and DG2 and they control the camera functions.

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

AEM, you got a lot further than me. After 3 days of trying to get the FrSky one to work for me, I finally gave up. But I'm very content with the HobbyKing one. My memory is a little vague, but I'm quite sure you get 1 through 16, AND DG1 and DG2. I know that I use DG1 and DG2 in my single...

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

As for the latency, I have never noticed. The FAAST systems have something like an 8msec delay (if I remember my facts correctly), so I can't imagine a person would recognize that. Anyways, with aerial photography you aren't needing the response times you do for 3D pilots, and for AP...

Agreed! Keep it up RC. For your next reel, include your opera house in Oslo, or Vigeland park. You have some amazing places there in Oslo.

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

No, when I was referring to a splitter I was differenciating it from the decoder that I gave the link for. You are correct that they both have 1 input and multiple outputs. When I said "splitter" I was referring to a dumb parallel wire soldering job you can do yourself (or buy, like this one...

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

Hey guys! DG1/2 are the digital channels 1 and 2. The T8FG and other S-BUS supporting transmitters/receivers have 14 "analog" channels (0-100%) and 2 digital channels (on/off). I personally like the combination of the 6208 with 1 or 2 of those HobbyKing S-BUS decoders (depending if you need...

S800 EVO - landing gear help.

Sadly, no (if I'm understanding your question correctly). The R6208SB receiver has it's outputs "hardwired", so to speak, to channels 1 through 8. You can use S-Bus, but the Naza or Wookong will only respond to channels 1 through 8. There's no way to map a Naza or Wookong to channels 9 and...

ryhza, nice work. You show a lot of control of your MR. But could you please not double post? Your videos correctly belong in the "Show your FPV video" thread, but doesn't fit the purpose of this thread as well. Thanks!

    Good start with f450 beginner

Dave, I have a F450+Zen3d2h+GoPro3 with stock motors and 1038 props. I use a 6000mah 3S and for me it's a perfect battery size. I get about 12 minutes flight time with it. In general I've heard that 4S batteries with 10" props can lead to overheating motors.

Glad you're having fun with your Phantom. Something for you to consider for future posts: this thread is for photos, and your videos might be better posted under one of the other two areas: "Show us what you filmed", or "Show us your FPV".

@Zaidy, nice shots. I would recommend you work on your gains, especially your yaw gain. Most of the video had a lot of yaw action that was causing the left/right instability/motion of the video. And sadly, I'd have to agree with helloman... the speeding up of video detracts from the beauty of...
