Records home position but crashes to the ground :(

I feel your frustration. Don't give up, it'll click. I'm sure Ben won't give up until you're up and running with your Tx/Rx setup.

Things They Do Not Tell You

Hi Chris, The method for starting the motors isn't tied to the transmitter. It's a function of the flight computer. So before you had a Multiwii, which is why the method for starting the motors was different. The method Ben explained is the Naza way. As for what happened inside your house, a...

Things They Do Not Tell You

The reason why I am guessing HOME lock is because he says "as though it is constantly 'tail-in'", which is describing how HOME lock works. When in home lock, it always behaves as if the tail is towards you so that right, for example, moves the aircraft right from the pilot's perspective. The...

Things They Do Not Tell You

Sorry, Chris, no you are not right, and you don't need to repeat things over and over. As I said, he could have programmed the two way switch to be any two combinations. If I had to guess, he set it up for OFF and HOME lock.

IPAD ground station does not work with WKM bluetooth LED module !

Hmmm... to me they look different, unless I'm just seeing different pages than you. The Wookong one is silver colored: http://www.dji.com/wkm-firmware-and-led-bluetooth-indicator/ The Naza one is black, and a little smaller...

    WARNING - Firmware 5.24

The IMU V1 is in a plastic tan case, while V2 is in an aluminum case. The GPS V2 says "V2" on the top of the antenna, and doesn't say anything on the V1.

Things They Do Not Tell You

Chris, we are sort of at a loss because we don't know how Ken programmed certain things. You said IOC mode was on a two-position switch. Ken could have programmed that with any two combinations of OFF, COURSE lock, or HOME lock. Unless he has it labeled, the only way we can find out for sure...

    WARNING - Firmware 5.24

I have Bluetooth LED on mine (forgot to mention that earlier). Or could it be how/where the GPS is wired into the Wookong? Mine is plugged straight into the PMU; but then again, I'm guessing that's how everyone probably has it.

Records home position but crashes to the ground :(

thurcombe, sorry for confusing you. I'll try to explain myself a bit more. There are multiple ways to get the Naza into Failsafe mode. 1. The easiest way is using the Naza Software Assistant, you can configure the U channel to be GPS, ATT, FS, and giveup usage of MANual mode. I personally do...

DJI Release Ground Station software v4.0.7

Bengit, you're right. People tend to think the lack of understanding or experience is license to blame others. :( Happens way too much on forums.

Records home position but crashes to the ground :(

GPS and GPS Atti are the same thing... DJI just likes to confuse us all. ;) Failsafe can be tested many ways, but as Ben said, don't test it by turning off the transmitter til you know all the others work. And you'll want to verify it all through your assistant software. You will want to setup...

    WARNING - Firmware 5.24

Cheshirecat, I am in the same boat as you. I have been flying 5.24 in GPS mode extensively the past 2-3 weeks and haven't observed this either. (Same configuration as you, but on an S800.) It does sound like it's hit or miss who this affects.

Things They Do Not Tell You

Great to know! I missed that post, so that was why I was going the route of the Assistant Software to figure that out. So, IOC has two "on" modes, one is Course Lock, and the other is Home Lock. If you understand them, then turn one of them on, no problem. Again, I was saying Off only...

    Infrared remote trigger for NEX5R

http://www.intelligentuas.com/FPV-Video-Link/StratoSnapper-2-For-Remote-Camera-Shutter-Video-Recording-Zoom-From-Your-Transmitter I don't own one... Yet. But it seems to do what you want, and I'm planning on getting one later this fall for the F550 I'm building.

Records home position but crashes to the ground :(

Also, somewhere in the Naza manual it says you need to set the Failsafe of your transmitter to provide >10% throttle. I'm totally guessing, but do you have "immediate" shutdown selected instead of "intelligent" shutdown in your assistant software? That, along with your receiver not setup for a...

Glad to hear that. So it sounds like you didn't experience the dropping out of GPS mode problems that some have reported? I'll probably give it a try this week.

Chris, F you haven't already, I would also recommend you revisit post #52 earlier in this thread from ChrisViper. He gave you a couple of good link for a document and a video that will help you get your MR off the ground and understand what we are talking about when we talk about calibrating...
