I have the answer to DJI's erratic fly-aways.

Question about fail safe and signal loss

Oh, I see it is the AR8000. A good receiver that has more than just smart safe. I use the same one. I think you're rebinding incorrectly then. Bind with the transmitter set to failsafe and throttle at 50% then check what happens in the assistant.

Question about fail safe and signal loss

How does it behave in the assistant when you turn off the transmitter? Get everything working there first before trying in the air. When you turn off the tx in the assistant does it go into failsafe? I've forgotten which transmitter/receiver you're using. Please remind me.

    Hello from the UK

Hi mate. As you'll find we tend to recommend the system we own so here goes. I recommend the DJI F550 as your first build. It is a hexa so more stable than a quad and will be capable of lifting the equipment you want to carry. It is within your budget I believe. The biggest cost is likely to be...

    BNUC-s vs. RPQ-s?

ResourceUAS will take the BNUC-S license as proof of competency and you just have to do a flight test and not the flight school part if you want to go through them. Just an FYI... PS - I do not work for them! I was just really impressed with their level of service. I guess it's their military...

    S800EVO GPS+IMU position?

...but maybe sort your wiring out first. All those loose wires will cause vibes and try to keep your power wires away from your receiver if possible.

    S800EVO GPS+IMU position?

Huh? The values you have there will be fine. Have fun!

    S800EVO GPS+IMU position?

No. The 2 you have at the moment is about right for starters. 2cm means -2cm just to be confusing. Don't know why DJI did it like this. Cultural differences? So at the moment you're saying the IMU is 2cm below the COG (or center plate). Your actual COG is lower but don't worry about that for...

Cameras video out for FPV and recoding noob questions

Yes they do. If you use the Zenmuse gimbal it's all built into the gimbal. You'll just need a video transmitter. Having live video out is essential for any kind of video work.

    S800EVO GPS+IMU position?

Looks okay to me. I think the previous poster was trying to say your COG is usually just below the bottom plate rather than actually on the bottom plate as the lipos and gimbal lower your COG. But doing it to the centre of the bottom plate will work just fine too! People get really fussy about...

Take free flying lessons from this guy!

Ah man, that was bad. Seemed to happen when he started to descend. I would probably shed a tear if that was me.

s800evo with futaba t14sg: zenmuse pitch control issue

Me too. That's what I was saying. You can simulate a two man setup with just one man. You can fly over things and pan down or gain altitude whilst panning down and it looks like you've got someone controlling the pan. In this video I just did I used it quite a bit: Make sense?

    Two green flashes ??

Is your throttle stick all the way down? That would cause two green flashes. Sticks centered means both sticks in the middle (50% throttle etc). Two green flashes is normal! When you're up in the air and just hovering with sticks at mid point there will be just one green flash. Cool?

s800evo with futaba t14sg: zenmuse pitch control issue

It actually helps to have it keep moving. Means you can do the work of a two man crew on your own. You can get those nice moving/tilting shots.

    GPS Hold

GPS is only accurate to within 2m horizontally by default so a little drift can be normal. There was mild solar activity yesterday also which probably didn't help. Have you calibrated your GPS? And offset for magnetic declination?

Getting ready to make the shift in Warwick, UK

Sounds like a good first setup! It will teach you what you need to know and you'll probably have the F550 for a long time. Have fun and welcome to the hobby!
