First UK conviction for illegal use of an unmanned aircraft by the CAA.

The problem the CAA has is lack of evidence in many cases. In this case the pilot is seen in the video and the aircraft was recovered by someone else, I believe. He was flying APM 2.5. He lost visual contact and initiated failsafe which failed. This is the point the CAA picked up on. You must...

    flying multirotors

It's not necessary to fly in manual mode professionally but you should learn it as a back-up as it gives you a better idea of how a multirotor flies. I personally don't have manual mode on my professional rigs as I don't find it useful or beneficial to obtaining good videos/photos.

    Lower priced radios

I loved my DX6i. It is a great tx. The RTH is dependent on the receiver you choose.

First UK conviction for illegal use of an unmanned aircraft by the CAA.

I've been reading his posts for the last month leading up to this case and he seemed to just lie down and give up. He didn't even go to the hearing. His legal advice was just terrible! Anyone in the UK who needs a specialist lawyer for this kind of case ask for Peter Lee.

First UK conviction for illegal use of an unmanned aircraft by the CAA.

That advice is the UK law which is very similar for hobby and commercial alike. I never understood why the FAA didn't just adopt the same rules since they are working regs. I believe the penalties were an £800 fine and £3500 court costs. The chap has been posting on a UK forum and I think he...

    CAA in the UK

I don't see your point? What an earth is wrong with police questioning people who are flying in congested areas? It's about time they took an active role. I have operated in London a few times and all you have to do is fill out a simple online form. In the future you may have a slightly more...

    Questions for multi-rotor vets...

Hey mate, Welcome to the forum. Lots of friendly people here. I'm also a lone wolf and have yet to go to a hobby store or model shop. All online and Youtube for me. And now my hobby is the sole source of income for me and my wife! And we live well. Have fun! :tennis:

    FPV not working

You get it, don't worry mate! We all went through this stage believe me! So you get a black screen on the correct channel? Hmmm, could be camera settings. Think NTSC/PAL. I think the black screen on the correct channel means it is correctly connected but maybe need to change a setting...

    FPV not working

Not necessarily. I have a working FPV setup (for a few years now). I have my ImmersionRC 600mW set to the default channel (why would you change it?) and have my monitor set to channel 1. Some monitors show static some don't. Could you show us a picture of your wiring because from your...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Ah, that makes more sense! Yes, I read per cell, always. I'm looking for bad cells rather than the overall lipo. So I'm on 12 per lipo which still sounds very good. My year old lipos are still the same as the brand new ones! Hence why I've stuck with the GensAce brand, they seem to just last...

    Do I need more channels?

You can live without failsafe in the very beginning, just fly close by. Make sure when you bind the throttle is at 50%, that way at least your aircraft will just hover there until you run over to it, hopefully! I would get a bigger receiver. The AR10000 is good, has two satellites. Although...

    dji a2 two purple flashes

As Carapau said, two purple flashes means it is receiving a command from the transmitter, ie sticks not centered. Normal behaviour. As above have you tried a CSC? Did the motors run before the update?

    Do I need more channels?

I believe the failsafe won't work with the AR6210. I think I read it only supports 'smart safe' not full failsafe which means only the throttle channel works. Have you tried turning off the transmitter in the assistant to see if failsafe activates?

    A2 Motor Test Failure

That just means when it's plugged into the assistant the motors won't spin up (except motor test of course). I believe it should be green when successfully connected to the assistant. Is the assistant program responding? Things move when you move the sticks/transmitter controls?

    WARNING - Firmware 5.24

+1! It looks like a disco at first but basically you just get a bunch of extra flashes when you're within 10m of home point.
