Flip of Death

Hi Guys,

Looking for some help with this now, as i can't figure out what on earth could be wrong.
Current setup:

DJI F450
HLY 880KV Motor's
Simon K ESC's
DJI NAZA M w/ GPS
2.4Ghz Data-Link
3S Lipo
DJI Leg Extensions

Everythings mounted onto the frame nicely, and it looks tidy, however, on power up, and take off, it fly's fine for about a second, and then flips straight over, see video at bottom.

I have gone through all my ESC's and re-calibrated, props off, powered the motor up and down lots, and wiggled all connections, it all seems to be fine there.
Only thing I think could be left to be dodgey is the actual Naza M controller.

Anyone with any idea's?

Cheers
Steve

Lucky you haven't mowed the grass recently.

I reckon it's definitely to do with the Naza. Nothing else would cause a reaction like that, unless you are holding the transmitter with your feet. Can you post a picture of the internals, and how you have them laid out?

Did you try to correct with the radio in the video? or was that just the Naza doing that?
I'm using a MultiWii controller and that's the same thing that mine did, except in the living room :black_eyed:
I had two of the ESCs on opposite arms plugged into the opposite plugs.
When the quad tried to stabilize it corrected in the wrong direction causing it to promptly flip.

Did you do the motor test in the NAZA software? To check that each motor is rotating the way it should. It's on the Aircraft page (the 1st page) in the Basic settings menu. Below all the pictures of the different multi-rotors, and motor layouts.

double check the motor connections going into the naza. I had the same thing happen to me. m1 to right front etc.

This had me stumped for ages when it was flipping over, also motor rotation is the second biggest thing that could be wrong

I have crashed more than I have ever landed safely and it is nearly always caused by the stupid Naza.
Many other flight problems caused by crashing are then misaligned motors, arms and props. This is always worth checking.
