    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

I don't appear to have the same yoke as you. My camera rests with the body in alignment with the tilt axis, your's appears to sit further back. With the left (facing front of camera) resting against the left axis bolt, I have a little less than .5 in of clearance on the right. Also, your lens...

    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

I got that exact one but there was no way to fit it between the camera and the mount that i could see. If you got it to work, could you post a pic?

    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

Is anybody using the Askman AG550 gimbal? If so, which HDMI cable are you using with the NEX5N? I have purchased two cables. One was a thicker cable with a right angle bend. One was an ultra thin cable. Neither would fit in the clearance between the camera and the mount. I tried letting it...

    Hoverfly Gimbal wiring harness

I have an AR8000, Hoverfly gimbal controller, and two axis gimbal. I plan on wiring it with a 6V BEC through the controller and powering the servos. I will have one servo connection from Aux2 on the receiver to control the tilt channel. Question is, should I cut the red wire from the AR8000 to...

    nex 5n quaestion

Polarizing filters on lenses are circular polarizers (or at least all the ones I've ever used have been). That means they only filter the light striking the lense from a certain angle. If you change the direction your camera is pointing, you have to readjust the polarizer When you aim your...

    nex 5n quaestion

I was a big user of polarizing filters for things like landscape photography but being unable to adjust the orientation of the filter on the fly means they're not that much use in AP. Since you can't rotate the filter in the air, it would only cut water reflections from certain angles...

    GPS pirouette

I gave up on perfect yaws in GPS pretty quickly. Figured it was just like Naza drift, something that would drive you crazy unless you just learned to live with it.

That's the 5. The k or s denote the lens it's packaged with I think. That in the link 16 mm is the one you want. The 18-55 it comes with is a decent walking around lens.

Oh yeah, the 16 mm won't be fisheyed but you are getting into the range of a bit of wide angle distortion. That's why I like the 19 a little better but if you want as wide as possible and extremely small and light, the 16 is definitely the way to go.

    nex 5n quaestion

I sometimes see Sony NEX series cameras referred to as Sony Alpha NEX but not always. Sony also has a line of full DSLR cameras called Alpha. These use the A-mount shared with Minolta AF cameras. NEX are all E-mount. If PaNt is correct and the Alpha means the A-mount adapter is included...

    nex 5n quaestion

I'm curious. Does the WiFi on the new NEX 5R operate at 2.4 like all other WiFi and would this not be a huge problem with 2.4 rc? I thought this might be a question when GoPro came out with their app to link with smart phones, etc but that has been vaporware for so long it's ridiculous...

    Bad Video Range ~

Beginner question. -- if I don't care that much about range, video used for LOS framing only, would I be just as well off with a 25mW tx and would the lower power mean less likelihood of interference with other on board electronics?

sony nex 5n setting. help please..

Shoot mode is a whole host of lessons. Here's some basics. The i mode lets the camera try to determine what kind of scene you are shooting (portrait, landscape, action, etc) and makes the settings based on what it guesses. Frankly, I've never used it, it's for people taking snapshots. For AP...

sony nex 5n setting. help please..

By the way, a lot of people use the Sony 16 mm pancake for their AP lens but I just got the Sigma 19 mm E-mount and really like it a lot.

sony nex 5n setting. help please..

Select menu and select the "Camera" icon. Scroll to the AF/MF option. Choose Manual Focus. Now when you move the focus ring, you should see parts of the image in the LCD outlined in a color. These are the areas that are in focus. I think the default color is red. This is called the peaking...

    Naza fly away

Kloner. I think it has to do with gain settings being too high also. Experimenting and recently set gains at 240. No twitches in calm air so I thought they were okay at that setting. But today in very calm air, I flew a little more aggressively than normal and experienced a loss of control...

    Sony Nex5 Remote Control

Here's the site http://littlesmartthings.com/ I'd have to look at the price, it's quoted in euros but I think it was in the neighborhood of $70.

    Sony Nex5 Remote Control

Sony NEX 5N does not have an intervalometer. I have a LittleSmartThings Stratosnapper, which can be set up to take both still photos and video using one channel and a 3 way switch. It also has the ability to take photos at set intervals. In fact, I have a second Stratosnapper to use as a...
