There's another anti drone system about to start field testing in Virginia.

He was in his late 60's or early 70's when the crap storm initiated. His flying proficiency was never really the issue. It was a power play by a federal employee that was supported by his superiors rather than admit the employee's error. Hoover continued to fly in other countries during the...

    FPV drone for kids

I've beat the living day lights out of two Ominus' at the expense of only one motor gear. I use them for pushing the limits of maneuvering at speed so when they hit something they typically do it pretty hard. The only thing I've found the Ominus does not handle well is tall grass. If the prop...

    FPV drone for kids

Generally, yes. Making the parts process a bit easier is the fact each copter has a full parts list break down included on the instruction sheets. I believe the prime importer is Hobbico/Tower, an extremely large distributor so mail order of parts is simple as well...

IRRC, Hoover missed his intended stop point on the airport after his dead stick routine and the FAA puke used that as the foundation of his charges.

Since we're on the subject of drone safety and full scale, I suppose one more drone versus plane article won't hurt. http://www.businessinsider.com/a-polish-f-16-jet-collided-with-a-drone-2015-10

Drones Etc. Using Copyrighted NDVI images and Data for products?

It's not common with American based companies but quite the norm for a China based company. You've got no means of dealing with legals with a China based company and they know it. OTOH, Drones Etc appears to be located in Salt Lake City so you have plenty of room to lean on them if your work...

The long range FPV/AP group and those that ignore airspace regulations are may want to have second thoughts. http://atwonline.com/technology/faa-evaluate-uav-detection-technology http://atwonline.com/regulation/congress-hears-solutions-illegal-incursions-uavs

Dromida, if you can trust them with a cell phone. Inexpensive and durable. Bit of lag in the video though.

crash and burn, can someone confirm my human error(stupidity)

Not sure anyone can confirm or deny the error but channel mapping while airborne doesn't seem to the the best time for such an activity. Sorry about your 900. At least you cleared the sky of mosquitoes and flies for a few minutes.

I remember Hoover's experience well. Years of bureaucratic B.S. because of a what appeared to be a clash with a local level FAA airshow inspector. A low level G.S. employee power play that should have never happened let alone go as far as it it.

Perhaps, but the story has made the big time in the aero industry. Drone life and Flight Global are all over it too. It got to me today via our daily industry updates newsletter. I will have to agree that a legal action against the FAA is a great way to get attention. Our government is...

I agree, companies that promote features such as Lightbridge or other operating and video system range enhancement devices are directly encouraging illegal behavior as part of their advertising. Considering who they hired for an attorney I'm surprised they are still promoting and market various...

All those people that have elected to ignore airspace safety regs are now solidly on notice. As news of this expands I wonder how much posts of aerial videos on You Tube will decrease. Perhaps we'll begin to see fewer long range/BLOS FPV threads on different forums.

Tarot 2d gimbal moving on its own

Probably needs some adjustment of the PID's. You really want to get that straightened out in order to turn on the camera before the motors are armed. Having to do it after is setting the stage for a prop injury at some point in time. Good to see you're making progress in the right direction...
