    Momentary Power Surge HC1100

Might take a magnifying glass and look for burn marks around solder joints and connectors. A "pop" implies an arc occurred.

    Pixhawk flight modes

Perhaps it would be better if they maintained separation of FC software upgrades until they were certain Pix-2 code was stable. Not a good idea to mimic DJI's practice of dumping software upgrades before they are fully vetted.

    skyjib 8 heavylift gain setting?

Exactly! Under powered or over weight. Pick either one and you would be right.

I'm not so sure some of the software updates for the Solo Pixhawk were not migrated to Pixhawk-1 software. That might not be a good thing if so. Pixhawk-2 has had a few issues. In any case, a 3.3 upgrade should not cause a massive thrust reduction when changing from Loiter or Alt Hold to...

    skyjib 8 heavylift gain setting?

Try flying it using only one of those batteries and observe performance differences. I agree with the others, changing gains is not going to help correct the underlying problem.

    Pixhawk flight modes

Once the basics for general flight stabilization are out of the way some if the greatest issues are found in how you to have to converse with the system, and the amount of data needed to do different things. It's not easy. I've been flying UAV autopilots for the last 10 years and they have a...

    Pixhawk flight modes

Naw, you're good to go. It's just having the access to adjust all that Pixhawk can do that puts it on the dark side. No other non APM based FC allows this much access ability, or functionality.

    Yuneec opportunity

Loosen up the max airspeed of the Yuneec and they'll have something pretty useful. Right now the are very speed challenged. A fair sports platform that can't keep up with anything...

You're flying a 680 if I recall correctly. The PID's in an out of the the box Pixhawk are very close to right for most quads in this size. I would fly it and see how it is before changing anything. I would also dig deep to find the reason for not arming in Stabilized mode. That is one of the...

    Pixhawk flight modes

Best to start with what's provided in the basic flight modes and set up and learn. As one learns they can slowly start exploring the various options available. Kind of like computers. Should someone first getting exposed to one jump right in and try to reprogram it? I know MR people do that...

    Tarot 680 with Pixhawk

Unfortunately they don't lie. There is no cure but you can deal with it. Once the nerves degenerate there's no medical cure. My feet and toes, some finger dexterity, and other motor skills were impacted in 2008 and nothing I have tried has changed the situation. You just learn to work around...

    Pixhawk flight modes

I flew my X8 a few times in Drift with a GoPro and 2D gimbal. When flying in Drift mode I fly it pretty hard (3D airplane roots) and the post flight video clearly showed the bank angles far exceeding the capability of the gimbal. Since rudder is slaved to aileron in Drift it's really easy to...
